Hmm, D7200 sensor is superior to D500 sensor, not sure why they would do this unless SOny is playing silly buggers with them over their best sensors.
Wake up Canon and release the 7D Mark III with 4K video.
Odin, WTF? D7200 isn’t superior at all.
Nikon have to make sure that the D7300 doesn’t take away the attraction of the D500. If they had sense, then the D7300 would move into the a DX role that the D810 holds for FX, while the D500 remains in the D5 role of the DX world.
If they up the pixels, reduce the FPS, and drop in some awesome video capabilities then Nikon will be showing good force in the camera market.
Non of them are just Superior to the other (from a user off both). They have different pros and cons comparing to each other. Putting the D500 Sensor in the D7200 replacement would be like putting the D5 sensor in the D810 replacement. Great camara, but it can’t replace the D810. Same with the D7200 and D500. Unless they place the D7xxx series as there high end allrounder (like D7xx in FX) and ad a highres option (D8xxx? from as the D8xx in FX). But, do they need two low end (5xxx and 3xxx) then?
Well, one thing – if you need highres – you will in most cases be better off on FX then DX.
But if they want to kill the highres on DX, then they should tell.
