The most recent update related to the DJI Neo 3 is that DJI itself has accidentally and easily confirmed it. They recently updated the DJI Fly app to version 1.21.18. Now, the most interesting part is that with the update, the DJI Neo 3 name has popped up in the drone list. Alongside that, the app also has an activation video showing how you can activate the DJI Neo 3 drone, and the cherry on top is that the app now also supports the recently announced screen controller with the Neo 3, which is the DJI RC600. So, I hope you get everything clear with this.
Now, since we have been working with DJI drones for more than the past 2 to 3 years, we do know that after the official announcement of a drone and in between the shipping period, the company generally updates its app with the recently announced drone details/data related to it. But for the first time, even before the official announcement, DJI has updated the Neo 3 drone details in its app.
This also clearly indicates that the announcement is expected to be very soon, as we have previously received some specific dates related to the announcement, but we are still waiting for some final sort of confirmation from trusted leakers like Igor and Jasper Ellens.

DJI Neo Leaked Specs So Far
These figures come from a Chinese production listing, a printed marketing sheet, and retail-box photography (primarily from Igor Bogdanov). DJI has not confirmed any of them:
- Takeoff weight: 192.7 g (versus ~135 g for the original Neo and 151 g / 160 g with transceiver for the Neo 2). It remains under the 250 g threshold in most regions.
- Sensor: 1/1.1-inch square CMOS, the same size and shape used in the Osmo Action 6. This supports native vertical shooting at full resolution without rotating the camera, plus 2x lossless zoom.
- Transmission: Built-in radio. The Fly More Combo box does not list the clip-on Digital Transceiver that the Neo 2 requires.
- Obstacle sensing: Omnidirectional, described as upgraded relative to the Neo 2.
- Controller: Screened remote (RC Mini / RC600) with its own display, physical sticks, record button, and (from flight video) a scroll wheel on the rear edge. Pairing and live view work without a phone.
- Other noted features: Palm takeoff/landing, gesture control, faster ActiveTrack / SelfieShot 2.0, and quick file transfer.
The batteries appear incompatible with Neo 2 packs (different contact counts). Propeller cages are integrated and require a screwdriver for removal. No official flight-time, resolution, bitrate, or price figures have leaked.

The Controller vs. the Drone: FCC Situation
A controller matching the leaked RC Mini received an FCC grant (FCC ID SS3-TKMI2507) on December 19, 2025—three days before the FCC added foreign-made drones and certain components to the Covered List. That grant means the remote itself can be imported and sold in the United States.
The Neo 3 aircraft has no FCC authorization. Under current rules, a new DJI drone without a pre-cutoff grant cannot be officially marketed or sold in the US. The same restriction has kept the Neo 2 and several other 2026 models off official US shelves. Gray-market or parallel imports remain possible for some buyers, but they carry the usual risks around warranty, support, and compliance.
A separate 25 % tariff on imported consumer drones took effect in September 2026. That tariff does not apply to handheld cameras.
DJI NEO 3 Announcement Soon
App assets for the Neo 3 and its RC600 controller are the strongest signal yet that a launch is close. The leaked hardware looks like a meaningful step up for the pocket-drone line-larger square sensor, built-in radio, screened remote, and omnidirectional sensing—while staying under 250 g. For US readers the practical story is unchanged: the controller can be sold here, the drone cannot under current FCC rules.
The Action 7 / Nano 2 and Ace Pro 3 stories are still open. A short Neo 3 piece that folds in the latest app evidence and the US regulatory context is the highest-priority publish today; the other three suggestions remain solid follow-ups depending on existing coverage.
