According to the latest information, the Panasonic G9 II may arrive in September 2023. Previous rumors suggested that the camera was expected to arrive before November 2023. So, we are getting a time frame between September and November for the announcement.
Panasonic G9 II Specs
New 20 Mp Hybrid CMOS AF Sensor
4k 120fps
5-Axis Sensor Stabilization; Dual I.S. (New Gen)
80MP High-Res Shot Mode
Top Status LCD; Rear Joystick
The specs above are from an unreliable/new source but look legit, so we have decided to publish them.
We have just published the news that Panasonic will soon update its major camera firmware to make it compatible with LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) autofocusing system.
Pics that show the Panasonic S1H camera working in calibration with the LiDAR autofocusing system + RS Pro 3 gimbal to stabilize the camera. Although We don’t have that much detail on how the autofocus performed during the test, the combination of LiDAR autofocusing system with RS Pro 3 gimbal and Lumix S1H camera isn’t a cheap package.
Instead putting time on Lidar Tech, they should announce S1H Mark II with Hybrid Sensor asap – TNC
At the same time, they say they have already DEVELOPED their hybrid CMOS SENSOR, and we have already seen it in the Panasonic S5 MARK II mirrorless camera. Then, instead of investing time and money in LiDAR autofocusing system, it’s better to announce a new series of updated sensors for all their pro cameras with a hybrid system that they already have.
Panasonic Lumix and DJI have joined hands for an ultimate partnership. Initially, the result of the partnership is that we will soon see firmware updates coming for S1H, S1R, S5, and S5R cameras. GH6 and GH5M2 will release firmware updates in mid-October to support DJI stabilizer RS3 Pro and Lidar to focus.

Achieve precise focus without fear of light
We can expect a significant improvement in video shooting. It is currently undergoing in-house testing before the final release and will soon become available.
Samyang announces a new lens for L-mount, the 35-150mm f/2-2.8. Although this lens is already available for Sony E-mount and Tamron makes the same lens for E and Z mount, Tamron is not currently a part of the L-mount alliance. The L-mount alliance comprises Sigma, Panasonic, DJI, Astro Design, and Samyang. So, for now, Samyang will take advantage of the situation.
How many of you guys think the new Samyang 35-150mm F2-F2.8 is a perfect lens for Panasonic S5 Mark II camera ? Let me know in the comment section
The confirmation arrived from Yamane-san from Panasonic recently mentioned in an interview that they will adopt the best autofocus method (obviously they are talking about the PDAF) depending on the target users and customer benefits, and they will consider installing PDAF on the camera based on its characteristics (means starting from the pro-MFT like GH series and then moving downwards). This particular piece of information adds more credibility to the set of information we have shared with u guys a while ago.
Actual Parts of the interview
As for future cameras, we will adopt the optimal autofocus method each time, while assessing the target users and customer benefits. We will consider installing PDAF depending on the characteristics of the model, not only for full size but also for MFTs, so please look forward to it.
About future 2023 products:
We will continue to support creators and develop products that creators want. And we will also consider the need for higher-end products to meet the future needs of creators. I can’t give you details about future products, but Johnnie’s high-end model for video production professionals may take a little more time. Anyway, please look forward to that day.

One of the most highly-anticipated features of the GH7 is its hybrid AF sensor, yes we do believe this time we will have a Hybrid CMOS AF inside. This sensor will be a combination of both contrast-detection and phase-detection autofocus technologies just like we have seen in the recently announced Panasonic’s S5 Mark II camera and has received positive feedback from users. The inclusion of this technology in the GH7 camera will allow for faster and more accurate autofocus, making it a more attractive option for professional photographers and videographers who require high-performance cameras. The only Major Upgrade I Wish for inside the upcoming GH7 camera.
However, it is important to note that while Yamane-san’s comments provide some support for the speculations in the article, it is still important to wait for official announcements from Panasonic regarding their upcoming GH7 camera
