According to latest rumors coming from NL, two different prototypes of 39Mp+ full frame DSLRs are out for from factory for test purpose, so consumer have to wait at least 6 to 8 months to see a megapixel monster from canon.
From the US, a 39MP sensor in a 1 series body, has apparently been used for several test video productions.
In the Far East, two other comments both pointed to ‘well over 50’ MP, once again in a 1 series body.
All stressed that these were not production model test cameras.

The DxO Mark Score of Canon 1DX is not confirmed yet but take a look at Canon 1Dx vs 5D Mark III High ISO images comparison, the Canon 1Dx images showing better color and more details at High ISO compared to 5D Mark III.
If the lighting conditions you’re shooting in doesn’t require an ISO over 3200, both cameras will deliver almost identical quality images. However, if you need to shoot with an ISO 6400 and above (especially at 12,800 and above), the Canon EOS-1D X will deliver a superior, cleaner image. This does not mean the Canon EOS 5D Mark III cannot render deliverable images at ISO 12,800, it just means that the Canon EOS-1D X controls the noise in the shadow area much better in a high ISO. Canon EOS 7D Magic Lantern Alpha Now Available for Download, it contain lot of new feature see the details below, but remember Use Magic Lantern at your own risk!
It is still an early alpha version, so here are a few things you should know:
- it was primarily tested on one 7D, and a few days on three other 7D’s;
- during those tests we took 1000 photos and gigabytes of videos;
- there were no crashes or strange behaviors during our tests;
- this release will not alter any data in your camera’s permanent memory;
- this release will not directly alter any so-called “properties” (persistent camera settings);
- this means, some functions like HDR photos, HDR videos, bulb ramping etc will not work yet;
- it is not a firmware upgrade, despite the camera saying “Firmware update program”;
- we have disabled all features that are not yet working perfectly;
- please don’t beg for adding feature XYZ, it will be added as soon as it works without issues.

According to latest rumors coming from canon rumor, CR guy received a email containing DxOMark score of of Canon 1DX, see the scores below
DxO score: 90
DR: 12.8
Color depth: 24.9 bits
ISO: 3296
If this is true than Canon 1Dx overall score is better than Nikon D4 and its low-light score is better than Nikon D4, D800E and D600 DSLRs.

According to latest rumors Canon may announce EOS 7D Mark II and 700D on January 2013 (before CP+, possibly during PMA), 7D Mark II will arrive with 700D and there will be no 70D(any time soon), Canon 7D Mark II will arrive with a new sensor (around 24 Mp) and reduced price, to target the 60D market.
