Main Features

1. The highest Image quality available from any of our cameras, made possible by a 12.3-megapixel High-Speed Live MOS Sensor that maximizes the superior imaging potential of ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses together with the “TruePic V+” image processing engine with new “Fine-Detail Processing” technology.

2. High reliability thanks to a rugged magnesium-alloy body, dust/splash-proof construction, and high-power Dust Reduction System.

Nikon P7000 Review

Read and find out what Bob Krist think about Nikon coolpix P7000

(Introducing a photographer)
My name is Bob Krist. I’m a travel photographer. I spend about six months a year on the road for a variety of magazines. We are here in the American Southwest to test the camera for Nikon.

(About image quality)
The image quality on the P7000 really blew me away. When I first opened up a file on the computer screen, there was a lot of detail, a lot of fine gradation. Image quality that I really had never seen from a compact. The reason for the great image quality is the fact that the sensor is a little larger than most compact cameras. Plus there’s 10 megapixels on that sensor. So, that makes for lovely gradation.

(About wide-zoom lens)
The P7000 has a tremendous zoom range. Starting at wide-angle 28mm, going all the way to 200 in such a compact body. Plus the f/2.8 at wide-angle makes it great for getting some available light in a low-light situation.

(About ergonomics)
I like the ergonomics of this camera. You have a lot of dedicated dials and knobs. If you are used to using a D-SLR, you’ll find a lot of similar controls here. This camera was designed for photographers. The first compact camera that won my heart, and won a place in my camera bag.
