If we believe the latest rumor surfaced over the web, One of the Canon 1DX prototype is using Canon made 25 Megapixel Fullframe sensor, as published earlier the Camera is also rumored to feature new generation of Dual Digic 7 image processor, due to the introduction of advance image processor the AF and continuous shooting speed of the camera will remain same as of current Canon 1DX camera despite of having higher resolution sensor (18 MP vs 25 MP).
However take this rumor with grain of salt.

If this camera will have the same FPS and 25 MP, there is no way the rumours on the 5D mark 4 (28 MP and 12fps) are true.
Very Stupid camera! Stupid and low class specification!

@Dinges I feel the same.
Very funny comments.
I can’t tell you the real specs or Canon beat me. But expect that the resolution is higher as 18 and lower than 28 megapixels.
To the other posters:
Do you have ever used a high megapixel camera? The best way to use a high resolution camera is on a tripod. I use a 50,6 MP (one is completely destroyed last week with a EF 300 2,8 II IS L) DSLR called 5DSr and three mid format cameras with 60, 80 and 200 MP.
The 1DX Mark II targets at photojournalists, sports photographers, action photographers and wildlife photographers. Speed, DR and high ISO capabilities are essential for these typ of photography.
I have two 1DX Mark II preseries cameras for testing and I am very happy that I can use them. It’s not a stupid camera. It meets my expectation for these types of photography.
Cameras are only tools. What counts is the man or woman behind the camera.
Most people talk about cameras that they don’t can afford or don’t need.
Marcus, do you serve salad or soup with that makebelief?
I am not on Canons paylist. I only have the chance to test new products.
If you read my post you know, that I post a lot of Cons for each new camera. For example: I am happy with the resolution and image quality the 5DSr delivers, but I am disappointed too because a lot of features that I want Canon don’t build in the camera. I don’t like the AF system, battery life and a lot of other thinks.
If I read the posts from many hobby photographers I learned that they want: a very fast high resolution camera which is able to perform perfect under low light conditions and can record 4K video or higher. But that doesn’t work. We don’t see such a camera (from any manufacturer) in the next years.
The 5D Mark IV (or whatever called later) has a higher resolution compared to the 1DX Mark II, but the 1DX Mark II is definitely faster. Don’t believe in all rumors that flow around on the net.
Sorry for my literal errors in the text. I can’t correct the text.
I hope that the new camera has about 20 mp and has much improved high ISO performance and not least much better dynamic range .
One can just as canon user look enviously at Nikon D4S as providing a great dynamic range and crazy good high iso services ….
come into the fight again canon
Can will do it’s best to remain the market leader in DSLRs camera
I have very much enjoyed the performance of my 1DX. The sport I shoot is dominated by nikon an I’ve had the upper hand in the low light night shooting tell the D4S came out. I’m wishfull for a higher cleaner ISO and maybe a slightly smaller body. I’d also like the batteries to be compatible with the 1DX. It really makes me think we’re being taken advantage of when they change the battery.
WHY is there so much Secrecy ,WHY not just tell Us When The 1DXmk2 will be released and it’s Correct specs so we can have an Idea how much we need to save and when and Where can we buy it from, WHY such Drama..Who cares what SONY/Nikon do and When they do it,IF you want to know go buy Sony/Nikon ..BUT for Us Canon users ,We want to Know…so Frustrating . waiting waiting waiting!!!!!!! 😉
