Canon 600D vs 550D, What hasn’t changed at all, – camera’s core specification.

An A+ for Automatic Mode: automatic mode with new Scene Intelligent Auto technology, re-branding the green mode dial setting with a boxed “A+” design. This new camera setting now takes Picture Style into account as part of the camera’s “Auto” setting. By analyzing faces, colors, brightness, movement, and contrast, the camera will dynamically adjust picture-style parameters to match the subject and control vividness.
Canon’s New four artistic filter options:
- The Soft Focus effect filter helps dramatize an image and smooth over shiny reflections.
- The Grainy Black and White filter can give a different nostalgic perspective to any shot.
- Canon’s “Toy Camera” filter deliberately adds vignetting and color shift for a creative option when shooting a colorful scene.
- Users can also make a scene appear like a small-scale model, simulating the look from a tilt-shift lens, with Canon’s Miniature Effect filter, great when shooting any scene from a high vantage point.
New Kit Lenses
Along with these DSLR cameras, Canon is also introducing a new kit lens, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II zoom lens. The version II of this lens includes new IS algorithms to automatically provide the optimal level of image-shake correction.
Conclusion Canon 600D is an extremely well-featured and a step above entry level DSLR camera, but it doesn’t officially replace the Canon EOS 550D.
Should you upgrade your Canon 550D? I would say no.
550D owners should wait for Canon 650D, 600D have no improvement in core specification. Get the Canon 600D only if it’s going to be your first camera.

 Panasonic Europe announced a new series of pocket full HD Camcorder with the Waterproof HM-TA20 and the HM-TA2. Both models comes with a 4x Digital Zoom, 3”touch LCD and E.I.S or Electrical Image Stabilizer, record full HD video in MP4 and can be used as Web Camera.
The HM-TA20 comes with a more rugged body both Shockproof and Dustproof as well as being waterproof (3M max).

Panasonic today announced the release of the tough designed new HD Mobile Camera HM-TA20. The TA20 features a triple tough design that is waterproof, shockproof and dustproof, and Night View mode for shooting in dim lighting. These features greatly expand shooting possibilities — for both movies and photos — and allow users to enjoy active movie shooting during all kinds of sports and recreational activities. In addition, a large 3.0-inch Touch LCD enables easy and intuitive operation anywhere and anytime. The TA20 features the MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), which is convenient for uploading and editing images with a PC or the Internet.
The TA20 includes an integrated USB terminal in its compact body. After editing images inside the camera, the user simply connects the camera to a PC and the built-in software launches automatically. This makes it easy to upload movies online, such as to Facebook or YouTube. The new model can also be used as a web camera.
Panasonic introduces the new HD Mobile Camera especially for use in active lifestyles, making it possible to capture Full-HD movies and high-resolution photos as you like.

The TA20 features high picture quality with Full-HD recording in MP4 format making it ideal for clear, high-resolution viewing both on a large-screen TV and a PC.
