Panasonic announces new ultra slim XS1 compact camera with 16MP CCD sensor, 5x optical with MEGA O.I.S image stabilization system, records hD videos at 30 fps and 2.7″ fixed LCD screen with 2.3K LCD Display.
Panasonic has also announced the Lumix DMC-FH10 and F5 compact cameras LUMIX FH10 provides identical performance to the XS1 (minus Creative Control filters) in an ever so slightly larger camera. The new, entry-level LUMIX F5 retains the stunning design of the XS1 and FH10 – as well as features such as MEGA O.I.S. and iA – and the inclusion of a 14.1 megapixel sensor make it an amazingly affordable option.

In an interview with British Journal of Photography and other UK-based photography magazines, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Leica ‘s head of supervisory board When asked if such a new camera could include HD OR FULL HD video features, Kaufmann said that
“theoretically, yes,” adding that there are some issues with introducing video in a camera – “the data rate, the heat, and the battery lifecycle, but I think we solved that. No comment until we show it on existing and new models.”
He added: “HD video is interesting, and a lot of photographers would love to have it (in an M body).”
Leica Mirrorless system unlikely to be introduced in 2012?
When British Journal of Photography asked about the Mirrorless system, Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, said that
“We can’t produce enough of what we already have,”……”There’s a project in place, but no timeframe. But you should come to our event on 17 September to see what we have.”
Last year CEO Alfred Schopf said that they ” We are developing Mirrorless system that may use a APS-C sized sensor and …..You will see something at the next Photokina (Photokina 2012)”
Leica M Sensors
Leica’s head also confirmed that the Leica would continue to work with Truesense Imaging, the equity firm that took over Kodak’s sensor operations. The Upcoming M models may use sensors made by the Truesense Imaging.

Lumiouns Landscape guys talking about the 24mp Dalsa CCD 35mm full frame sensor as a potential sensor for a rumored Leica M10,

I had a chat last night to a very good friend of mine in Melbourne who owns and runs a large print house (which shall remain nameless for now to protect the guilty). He astutely pointed out to me a new sensor Dalsa have placed on their website for all to see HERE.
What application can this sensor have? Clearly its not for Canon or Nikon, or even Sony for that matter. Its a CCD sensor for a start.
Looking closely at the specifications it becomes obvious to both of us that this can probably only be a sensor for the Leica M10?
Or, are we drawing to long a bow?
