News coming from EOS HD, Canon working on a new codec for the 5D Mark 3 based on the MPEG format. It will feature a 4-2-2 colour space and a variable bit rate, up to 50mbit. It is the DSLR version of the codec used in the XF305 (The Canon XF305 and XF300 PRO Camcorder models, both come in under $8,000 also use the same MPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps codec.)
The 4-2-2 colour sampling and the 14bit A/D converters on the sensor will deliver more lifelike color and smooth gradated tones like high quality still images.
Something new is coming at March 1, 2011 as as said by cr “A suggestion that a DSLR may be announced on March 1 came our way today. No word on what model they may be talking about.”

PCWorld.in says few words about the upcoming 5D Mark III / 6D
Canon may name the next product in this dSLR series, as either the EOS 6D or the EOS 5D Mark III. This product would succeed the current Canon EOS 5D Mark II. It may offer a 24 Megapixel sensor and dual DIGIC 4 processors. The 3-inch display may be an articulated LCD screen with 1.04 million dots. What is more, it may be touch sensitive, making it the first full-frame camera with such technology.
When it is expected: This model from Canon’s stables is expected to be available before the first half of 2011 ends.

Owning a 50mm lens is probably a must for any photographer. These primes are ideal for many good reasons. Mounted on a full-frame body, they provide a neutral field of view. Not a wide-angle, and not yet a telephoto lens, it is said to be close to human vision. On wide sensors, a 50mm lens can be the perfect companion for many different activities, including reportage, portraits, or even landscapes.
Mounted on an APS-C sensor, they become a short 75mm telephoto that is highly suitable for portraits.
In addition to their optical qualities, 50mm lenses usually use a simple optical formula. They are thus small, light, fast, and usually affordable, although at least one sells for more than 1,000 USD.
Many qualities, yes, but many models, too, and choosing the right one isn’t always easy. That’s why we have produced this short analysis.
