Panasonic Stopped Development of Compacts Mirrorless - Nikkei Reports

Panasonic taking a step back in the development of Mirrorless cameras. With the above decision, they have made, we may see No further announcement in the GF and GM line of cameras.

The company (Panasonic HD) said, “We have stopped developing new models that can be replaced by smartphones.” Production of existing products will continue for the time being, but in the future, the company plans to concentrate on developing high-end mirrorless machines mainly for enthusiasts and professional video creators. We are planning to release a mirrorless machine jointly developed with Leica Camera, which we formed a comprehensive partnership with at the end of May, in about a year.

As per the tipster’s note, we have already published an article on July 2022, which still look feasible, but at the same time, this report raises the question of whether will Panasonic will continue the G100 series line of camera. Since we had tip its G100 successor coming on Q4 of 2022. it’s a matter of time before everything becomes clear.

    Seems logical, the extra capabilities provided by the compact camera are inaccessible to most users, because the instruction manuals are dreadfully poor.
    So people switch to their phone cameras, not as good, but good enough.
