According to veteran photographer and famous Youtuber TonyNorthup Nikon may announce Nikon D580 (successor of Nikon D500) and Nikon D880 (D850 successor in 2021). Take a look at the speculated specification of Nikon D580 and Nikon D880.

The Nikon D880 specs look legit to me. And it’s almost the same as we have published at the beginning of 2020.

They won’t sell any at $40,000 and even if it’s supposed to be $4000, they won’t sell many. If the price rises over the D850 they are literally insane.
I’will give all my money to Nikon if they will put Ibis and a good AF system on D880 and won’t increase to 60mpx… 45mpx it’s already too much sometimes so keep it to 45 mpx would be perfect!
Being a lifelong Nikon bird/nature photographer both FPS (action) and MPX (crops) matter substantially.
Hence, I am seriously considering switching to Canon / R5 (20 fps + 45 MPX + excellent AF), if Nikon does not get it’s act together very sooooooooooooooooon.
The Z7(ii) AF System with Eye tracking and IBIS in a D880… Yes I would directly change my D800E to this Body
One the other hand, Nikon please create an FTZ2 Adapter with Motordrive for the older mechanical AF-System. Then I would change to an Z7ii Body with this new FTZ2 Adapter.
The reason, some older pro-lenses (for exemple 2.0/135DC or 2.8/80-200) works also very fine on a 36 or 45MPix Sensor.
$40000? Are you sure? ?
That was typo, I have updated the page
