So we have new images of the upcoming DJI Matrice 5 drone for professionals, and the images have been shared by one of the most trusted DJI leakers.
Trusted DJI leaker Igor Bogdanov (Quadro_News) has shared a new set of photos that appear to show the next compact enterprise drone from DJI. The images, posted on 26 July 2026, are currently being referred to as the DJI Matrice 5.
What the New Photos Show
Bogdanov shared three images:

1. Side Profile Close-up
As usual, as the prototype is being tested, we can see multiple protective tapes and stickers present all over the body to protect the identity of the drone. Despite all those measures, the Manufacturing labels and QR codes are clearly visible on the body. The overall build quality and design language look consistent with current DJI enterprise platforms.

2. Outdoor Full View
The best part is that the drone looks compact and appears to sit in the same compact size class as the Matrice 4 series rather than the larger Matrice 300/350/400 platforms. The multi-sensor gimbal is clearly visible underneath.

3. Multi-Sensor Gimbal Close-up
This is the most interesting image. The camera module looks highly advanced. The payload features a dense cluster of sensors with multiple optical openings, although we have no information about the number of camera modules we actually have and sensor sizes at the moment. The arrangement looks more complex than the current Matrice 4T and Matrice 4E camera systems, suggesting an upgraded multi-sensor suite.
How It Compares to the Matrice 4 Series
DJI launched the Matrice 4E and Matrice 4T in January 2025, and now it’s time for a schedule update, as its compact multi-sensor flagship platform. Those drones brought improved AI processing, better low-light performance, a laser rangefinder, and stronger obstacle sensing.
The new photos suggest a logical evolution:
- More advanced multi-sensor payload
- Potentially stronger onboard computing
- Possible integration of additional sensing (LiDAR has been speculated by some coverage)
Dutch drone site Dronewatch has already covered the images and is treating them as a potential Matrice 4 series successor.
Final Thoughts
The photos are credible enough to take seriously, especially given Bogdanov’s strong track record with previous DJI leaks. At this stage, however, it remains a rumor.
We will continue monitoring for additional images, regulatory filings, or official confirmation from DJI.
Stay tuned, stay updated
