Panasonic Receives Triple DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association) Gold Awards For LUMIX Digital Cameras DMC-G2, DMC-TZ10(ZS7) and DMC-FX66(FX68)

Panasonic is pleased to announce that the DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organization of collaborating websites, honors the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2, DMC-TZ10(ZS7) and DMC-FX66(FX68) with DIWA Gold Awards. The prestigious DIWA Awards are based on test results carried out in the DIWA Labs, and evaluations of more than 200 different camera details made by DIWA members.

“The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2 features the world’s first touch-screen shooting control in a system camera. This small mirror-less system camera, tailor-made for the super-compact Micro Four Thirds System standard, makes the DMC-G2 package exceptionally portable, yet delivering professional image quality. In addition to its compactness, the Panasonic DMC-G2 receives its DIWA Gold Awards for its intuitive operation, first class screen and LVF (Live View Finder), and last but not least – its ability to capture high quality 12.1 MP stills and HD movies.”

“The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ10(ZS7) offers innovative technology and all-round features which makes it a unique versatile megazoom camera. 12x Leica DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 25mm wide angle, 12.1 Megapixel multi-aspect CCD, Venus Engine HD II, GPS, and HD movie in AVCHD Lite provides ultimate power to the palm of your hand. The Panasonic DMC-TZ10(ZS7) sets a new standard for megazoom cameras, in terms of versatility as well as image quality.”

“The Panasonic DMC-FX66(FX68) offers a new image processing technology with added options for even more remarkable results. Yet another argument in favour of the ultra-compact LUMIX FX-series. The 5x LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens in the FX66(FX68) has a bright 25mm f/2.8 wide-angle, for high quality photo/movie shooting even in low-light. Furthermore, the high-performance Venus Engine V offers super-fast responses and lets the user fully enjoy easy-to-use operation.”

Kai Thon, test manager of DIWA Labs comments: “Not long ago, Panasonic were an outsider to the established camera industry. In many respects, they are now leading the way. All the three awarded cameras have vital common factors, such as innovative thinking, supreme engineering and craftsmanship, and user-friendly design. Most importantly, however, is that all cameras deliver the highest image quality of their class. This is partly thanks to Panasonic’s partnership with the optical legend, Leica of Germany, but also in-house world leading imaging and electronics expertise.”

Panasonic Receives Triple EISA Awards for the Digital Imaging Products

Panasonic today has announced that the company has been awarded a total of five EISA Awards (three for the digital imaging products and two for the AV products) this year, the highest number of awards it has ever received in a single year.

The “European Multimedia Camera 2010-2011″ proudly goes to DMC-G2, the world’s first touch-control digital interchangeable lens system camera* which achieves high picture quality and mobility with unprecedented operational ease. For the digital compact camera, the DMC-TZ10(ZS7) is awarded with the “European Travel Compact Camera 2010-2011″ for its outstanding versatility made possible with 25-300mm LEICA DC lens and a host of options that enhances user’s photographic experience and fun. For the camcorder, the HDC-TM700 receives the “European Camcorder 2010-2011″.

* For an interchangeable lens system camera as of March 7, 2010.

In addition to the digital imaging products, Panasonic is also awarded with the audio-visual products: “European 3D-Plasma TV 2010-2011” for VIERA TX-P50VT20 and “European HT Soundbar 2010-2011” for Panasonic SC-HTB500.

“We are very proud to take home a total of five prestigious EISA Awards this year, the highest number that Panasonic has ever won in a single year. This clearly demonstrates how our commitment to the highest quality is paying off and we will continue our efforts to raise the bar even higher next year,” said Laurent Abadie, Chairman and CEO of Panasonic Europe Ltd.

European Multimedia Camera 2010-2011: Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2, the world’s first interchangeable lens system camera with touch-control shooting, also made it onto EISA’s list of excellent products. As the EISA jury puts it: “One of the most exciting features of the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2 is its vari-angle 3-inch (3:2) touch-screen monitor, from which one can both take control of shooting settings and activate the shutter by touching the subject on-screen. The camera’s excellent electronic viewfinder makes it easy and comfortable to frame and focus pictures even in strong light. The contrast-detection autofocus system is impressively fast, and picture quality is good in both still and video (AVCHD Lite) modes.”

European Travel Compact Camera 2010-2011: Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ10(ZS7)

According to the EISA jury, “the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ10(ZS7) represents a big step forward for the company’s TZ(ZS) series. Beyond all the auto and user-selectable specialised scene options – with new Pinhole and Film Grain modes – the TZ10(ZS7) offers the more traditional P/S/A/M shooting modes for greater control and increased creativity. As a travel camera, the inclusion of GPS and geo-tagging is very welcome, while the 12x 25-300mm Leica DC Vario-Elmar zoom lens offers focal lengths for every occasion. The feature set is completed with AVCHD Lite video recording. And, better still, it all fits very easily into your pocket.” Other key features of the ultra compact, award-winning camera from Panasonic include Intelligent Resolution Technology, 16x Intelligent Zoom and even a built-in GPS unit that stores location data on where a photograph was taken so that this information can be shared with friends and families.

European Camcorder 2010-2011: Panasonic HDC-TM700

In following up on the award that the Panasonic HDC-TM300 received only last year, the jury recognized the Panasonic HDC-TM700 HD camcorder by stating that, “it delivers exceptional picture quality aided by a three CMOS sensor system and bright Leica Dicomar lens. Excellent low light performance coupled with a low level of noise is ensured by a hard working picture processor. A new 1080/50p picture format offers great movement reproduction and advanced users benefit from a full range of manual adjustments backed by a Focus Assistance system and histogram displays. A new intelligent automated system provides effective focus/exposure tracking while a two-stage image stabiliser makes reportage shots very easy. 32 GB internal memory together with SD memory slot offers operational flexibility.”
