Nikon finally today announced the long rumored  three lenses, the list includes

  • AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8E ED VR – $2399 in late August
  • AF-S Nikkor 24mm F1.8G ED – $749.95 in mid-September
  • AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm F5.6E ED VR – $1399.95 in mid-September

Nikon announced 16-80mm F2.8-4 VR for DX Format camera

nikon_16_80E Nikon finally announced its latest AF-S DX Nikkor 16-80mm F2.8-4E ED VR lens for those users who want to get the experience of highly capable wide-angle zoom lens. It is the first time Nikon has used the advanced Nano Crystal Coating and an electromagnetic diaphragm in a DX lens.

The lens supports a popular, wide 24-120mm (FX-format equivalent) focal range, through which the users can shoot different varieties of shooting like the wide-angle landscapes, tight portraits and is just like all features in one lens.

Its fast aperture of 16-80mm supports the users to blur the background to produce the separation between subject and background.

The company has used the Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization technology to increase its low-light capability and it also offers 4 stops of image stabilization to produce sharp and perfect images even in poor light condition.

It also supports a minimum focus distance of 1.2 ft/37 cm throughout its focal range, and hence offers 4 extra stops of handheld shooting to its VR stabilization.

The lens is made up of 17 elements in 13 groups and seven –blade aperture backed with the Silent Wave Motor technology for fast, accurate and better performance of its AF system.

Nikon has announced two types of super telephoto FX prime lenses including the AF-S Nikkor 500mm F4E FL ED VR and 600mm F4E FL ED VR.

Both the lenses are comparatively lighter than its old version. Nikon has made both the lenses optimized for high -resolution image sensors and for its fast-shooting Nikon DSLR cameras. The company has designed the lens with improved AF tracking performance through which the users can capture different images of wildlife action in more clarity even at moving randomly.

Nikon’s both lenses are based on its Nikon’s Electromagnetic Diaphragm which supports the consistent exposure during high-speed action images.

The weight of AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4E FL ED VR is 6.8 lbs. (3090 grams) which is comparatively lighter than its predecessor’s 8.5 lbs. (3880g).

Such type of lens is suitable for sports photographers to capture fast action photos and HD videos from a long distance and results in perfect image and clarity.

Both fixed aperture lenses has the capacity of capturing low-light imagery at night and also captures the images of flying birds at sunlight with ultra fast AF support, you can capture running aircraft in the sky or other objects in fast action and there is no need to carry tripod for the users. Nikon Will Fix the AF-S NIKKOR 300mm F4E PF ED VR issue

Firmware update is now available for the the recently announced AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens, the update was announced to fix the issue where at certain shutter speeds on D8xx-series cameras, images can exhibit ‘noticeable blur’.

After investigating the issue Nikon found that while users select the shutter speed around 1/125 sec, the Lens VR function automatically enabled in Normal and Sports mode.

How to Find that your Lens is affected or Not
If you have lens with serial numbers lower than 205101 the lens need some attention, submit your lens to nearest service center and get free firmware update for your lens.
