Nikon attempt to copy the Canon G12?
Nikon Finally try to improve its features on Nikon P7000 to compete with Canon G12, Nikon P7100 comes with Fully articulated 3″ LCD with 921,000 Screen dots , Nikon claim that they have managed to increase the overall speed of the camera, however the zoom lens, image sensor and other core specification remains same.
DxO lab tested both canon g12 and Nikon P7000 Sensor few days ago, see the result below

The Canon G12 have better sensor compared to Nikon P7000 and Nikon claim that both Nikon P7000 and Nikon P7100 have same image sensor.
Conclusion: Canon G12 is clear winner, Nikon should improve its old P7000 sensor to win the compact flagship war.

What not improved in Nikon P7100?
- Same image sensor
- Core Specification
- weight gain issues and Size
- Nikon P7000 – Approx. 355g, Dimensions – 112 x 76 x 48 mm
- Nikon P7100 – Approx. 395g, Dimensions – 116 x 77 x 48mm
Conclusion – Upgrade from Nikon P7000 to P7100 is not recommended, you should wait for Nikon 8000 or more advance model.
Before buying Nikon P7100 look at the price difference, paying $100 and more will bring slight modification with a tiltable LCD.
