From the High ISO test we can see that Canon 70D using strong noise filter compared to 60D,  images of Canon 70D have less details + less noise  compared to 60D at ISO 3200 and 6400 , at 12800 both are almost same.

Canon latest Dual-pixel AF technology help 70D to do fast AF during live-view and video mode, but the ISO performance remains almost same, do you will buy new 70D or you are happy with your 60D DSLR?. If you have some time take a look at Canon 70D vs Canon 60D comparison review.

Canon 5D Mark III - H264 compression vs Magic Lanterns 14 Bit RAW

Take a look between the comparison between H264 compression vs Magic Lanterns 14 Bit RAW, RAW video look better to me…. see the video below

An ISO test comparing Canons H264 compression vs Magic Lantern’s 14 Bit RAW hack.

First I converted the RAW files with ML’s raw2dng.

  • Next I dragged the files into Photoshop which opened up Adobe Camera Raw.
  • I selected the first image and used the auto white balance setting which got rid of the heavy magenta tone.
  • Then I synchronized the additional files, and exported them as 16bit tiff files.
  • First I tried to use QuickTime 7 to create an image sequence, but it render the video with incorrect color.
  • So instead of QT I ended up using Final Cut Pro X to create an image sequence to a ProRes 422 HQ output.

Graphene sensor - 1000 Times More Sensitive to Light

Just imagine the low light performance of your camera when your current sensor become 1000 times more sensitive to light, Scientists at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have announced the development of a sensor made of graphene (made up of pure carbon substance) that is 1,000 times more sensitive to light and consumes 10 times less power compared to traditional CMOS or CCD sensors,

Graphene sensor will initially used in surveillance cameras and in satellites before implementing to DSLRs and point-and-shoot, according to the researchers at NTU, once the sensor reaches mass production, it will be up to five times cheaper than CMOS or CCD sensors.

The newly developed Graphene sensor is definitely a huge technological breakthrough that will revolutionize the photographic industry.
