London, November 4, 2011 – Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, is pleased to confirm another successful sponsorship of London Fashion Week in September.
London Fashion Week is the biggest event on the British fashion calendar, drawing in more than 5,000 buyers and journalists and more than 200 UK and International designers.
As Principal sponsor of the event, Canon shared its passion for the power of image with the world of fashion, helping professional photographers capture and deliver beautiful images both on and off the catwalk. More than 350 accredited catwalk photographers attended the event in September, including professional photographers using Canon, shooting more than 68 catwalk shows across the six days.
The photographers were working in a high-pressured, busy and crowded environment, always trying to get ‘the perfect shot’. For the duration of London Fashion Week, the Canon Professional Services Photographers’ Centre provided a range of support services for all accredited photographers and videographers, carrying out 112 minor repairs, 112 lens loans, and 53 camera loans. A team of technicians was also on hand to handle any questions and give technical advice.
James Leipnik, Chief of Communication, Canon Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “There is a natural synergy between Canon and the fashion industry, reflecting our desire to produce imaging solutions that encourage and unleash creativity. Canon today ended-up all rumors and announced that the company is developing a new-concept EOS-series digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera. The Canon upcoming DSLR will feature 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor and, enabling the recording of 4K video at 24p , with Motion-JPEG compression.
