Since the quality is up to par my best guess is that the curved sensors are finnaly ready and will be anounced soon.
Since the image quality improvement by this technology is imense with not much additional cost (at least for this camera) the at CES anounced camera makes this one obsolete so it will be replaced by something significant better.
