If the Sony A7R II hit the market before the 5Ds(r) is available the A7R II maybe destroy the 5Ds(r) sales if the production version from Sony is equal to the prototype.

We all know that Sony is able to produce very good sensors.

Until now there is no production series firmware available for the prototypes. That’s a shame.

we know sony sensors are good, that’s why most other manufacturers use them. The rub is sony always keep a few of the capabilities back for there own cameras. Example a6000 with its awesome shutter rate.

I’m a very happy Sony user/owner as the Sony cameras allows me to use almost all my favourite optics that once was tied proprietary camera bodies because of the mount. So my loyalty is now with Sony for given me the freedom of choice which I never had before.

I have also read that DXO still consider the Nikon D810’s 36mp (Sony sensor) technically is still ahead of 50mp Canon sensor in terms of sharpness and dynamic, so I would assume if Sony is to bring out a 50+mp and with the right optics, then it will be a better camera/sensor than the Canon.
