The Canon 7D Mark II is equipped with a new 65-point AF system, the AF points are arrayed over a wide area on the screen that you see, allowing you to focus on subjects nearly up to the edges of the screen. The most important thing is every AF point that you see is a Cross-type point and the center AF point allows AF with lens + Canon extender combina tions down to f/8 effective maximum apertures

None of the lenses I own, two L ones included, are compatible with the 65 point system. Why Canon would introduce a new camera that doesn’t work to full capacity with all of its lenses is beyond me. After all, the Canon lens lineup it one of its claim to fame and a main reason why some reviewers will recommend Canon bodies over otherwise superior bodies of its competitors.
I was only considering buying the 7D mk2 because I have Canon lenses. I currently own the original 7D. I’m not willing to replace my current lens lineup. I’m not made of money as you think most people are.
I will probably sell all my Canon equipment and go to new technology. Now just have to decide between the Olympus OMD E-1, or the Fuji X-T1.
