Canon will now employ robotic assembly for making Digital Camera and soon canon will become first camera maker to swap out all its human workers in favor of robots, according to Jun Misumi (Canon spokesman) this step will help canon to keep its technology within Japan and to Sell / build Camera at an affordable cost, rather than moving factories abroad to use cheap labour in places like China, Indonesia and India.
The move toward machine-only production will likely be completed in the next few years, perhaps as soon as 2015, said Misumi, although he declined to give specific dates.
Canon spokesman , Misumi was adamant that jobs won’t be cut at Canon. “When machines become more sophisticated, human beings can be transferred to do new kinds of work,” he said.
