Fujifilm FinePix S1600-S1800-S2500HD

February 2, 2010: Fujifilm is proud to announce the arrival of the NEW FinePix S1600, S1800, and S2500HD, a range of compact and lightweight, 12 megapixel digital cameras with powerful Fujinon long-zoom lenses.

FinePix S Series bridge cameras have been popular across the world for many years, and the new line-up for 2010 doesn’t disappoint.  Built around new x 15 and x 18 Fujinon lenses and Fujifilm’s proprietary image processing, the new range delivers remarkably high quality results all the way from wide angle through to telephoto. With unique easy-grip styling, and their small, lightweight design, these models can be easily carried around with you, yet are sturdy enough to let you know that you’re in charge of the technology.

Impressive Fujinon Optics
All three models boast a 28mm wide-angle start to the zoom range, while the FinePix S1600 extends this to 420mm (x 15) and the FinePix S1800 and the FinePix S2500HD reach an impressive 504mm at telephoto (x 18).  From sweeping landscapes, interiors and large group shots to distant sports or wildlife action, all three cameras are ready for every photographic challenge thrown at them.

Dual Image Stabilisation
With a mechanically stabilised CCD sensor and high ISO sensitivity (to ISO6400) for anti-blur protection, the combination of these technologies reduces the blurring effect of both hand-shake and subject movement to provide sharp, clean and clear results even at the longest zoom settings or in the most challenging of lighting conditions.

High resolution LCD screen and Electronic Viewfinder
Providing you with the flexibility of framing your shots using the high quality electronic viewfinder or the large, bright 3.0-inch LCD screen, whichever you choose, they both offer high resolution image playback and a fast frame rate of 60 fps.

Let the camera do the hard work for you
Using Fujifilm’s Scene Recognition Auto (SR Auto) the S series cameras are able to intelligently select the scene type and the shooting conditions present and will adjust the camera settings accordingly, optimising results and making it easy to take good pictures.

Advanced HD capabilities
All S models now capture HD videos and HD stills enabling you to play them back on any HD ready television* for the ultimate viewing experience. Additionally, the FinePix S2500HD features an HDMi mini port so can connect to a HD ready TV direct via a HDMI cable (Commercially available).

Tracking AF
Now featuring Tracking Auto Focus, previously only on the S1500 model, this useful function allows you to track moving subjects by half-pressing the shutter button and ensures that when you take the shot you capture your subject in the centre of the frame and in perfect focus. No more frustrating missed shots!

Perfect Portraits
To further enhance the existing Face Detection system, Fujifilm have added two fun and valuable features: Smile & Shoot Mode can recognise the precise moment your subject smiles and releases the shutter only when this happens, ensuring that all your photos are happy ones. Blink Detection warns you if any of your subjects have blinked so that you can re-take the photo if necessary.

Advanced Features
Previously on the S2000HD, Instant Zoom is a versatile feature which enables the user to keep their subject in shot at long distance by offering a wide viewing area around the frame and then cropping in to the subject once the photo is taken.

Zoom Bracketing is another useful function enables three shots to be taken at the single press of the button, at varying degrees of magnification (original, 1.4 x and 2.0 x). This enables instant editing on the camera to choose the ideal shot, rather than having to go back to a PC to facilitate a digital crop.

Panorama mode allows you to take a series of pictures and then stitch them together to create an impressive continuous shot of a landscape or a group of friends.

Pre-programmed scene modes: The new models features pre-programmed scene modes that offer a one-touch setting for almost any situation, including: Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Party, Flower, Text.

Natural light with Flash Mode: This FinePix new S-series quickly shoots two images in rapid succession – one with the flash and one without – and saves both. This convenient function lets users perform a comparison at their convenience and select the most pleasing image.

Photographic control: all three models feature Programmed AE, Shutter Priority AE, and Manual mode with extensive metering and focus options for the more advanced user.

NEW Auto Picture Rotation: A useful new function that ensures your photos are always the right way around in playback. Whether you have taken a landscape or portrait image, you can enjoy your pictures whichever way around you are holding the camera, as the image will rotate in the screen to suit.

Micro Thumbnail: A playback feature that allows for viewing an index-style image on the LCD. The FinePix S1600/S1700/S2500HD will show up to 100 images in micro form. The control buttons are used to select specific images.

Fujilim FinePix HS10

Serious photographers wanting the versatility and performance of an SLR system without the bulk or expense now have the perfect solution in the shape of the new Fujifilm FinePix HS10. The latest addition to Fujifilm’s award-winning range of big zoom ‘bridge’ cameras offers an unprecedented feature set that combines a powerful 24-720mm (30x) zoom lens with sophisticated photographic controls, advanced functionality and SLR-like handling in a single compact, affordable unit.

Utilising cutting-edge Back Side Illumination CMOS capture married to class-leading Fujinon optical design, the FinePix HS10’s unique mix of advanced technologies brings several new features designed to make achieving professional-looking pictures easier than ever to the FinePix range, whilst maintaining Fujifilm’s legendary image quality and low-light shooting performance.

Key features at a glance:

* High Resolution super wide Fujinon 30x optical zoom (24-720mm) with manual (mechanical) zoom
* True wide-angle and extreme telephoto capture in a single compact unit
* Triple image stabilisation (sensor shift IS, high ISO IS, Digital IS)
* 10 MP BSI CMOS sensor with advanced shooting modes and high image quality
* 3.0” High Resolution tilting LCD
* Electronic Viewfinder with eye-sensor for automatic switching
* High speed 10 fps continuous shooting at full resolution and new motion-tracking auto focus

* Motion Panorama mode for ‘one shot’ sweeping panoramas
* Advanced capture modes including unique Motion Remover mode that removes tourists and other moving objects from your photographs
* Direct Shooting Command buttons and Command dial put advanced photographic features at your fingertips
* RAW and JPEG capture modes

A lens so good you’ll be glad you can’t change it
With a range that would require at least two bulky ‘super zoom’ lenses on an SLR, the FinePix HS10’s built-in 30x wide-tele zoom lens is its crowning glory, encompassing virtually every photographic requirement in a single compact unit. Furthermore, because the lens and body on the FinePix HS10 are built as a closed unit, it eliminates the possibility of dust on the lens and Sensor – a serious problem when removing lenses on a digital SLR.
The twist-barrel manual zoom control enables the photographer to make precision adjustments, and zooming is faster and more accurate than with the powered zooms traditionally used in this class of camera.

The class-leading 30x optical zoom covers a uniquely versatile 24-720mm (equivalent on a 35mm camera) range from true wide-angle to ultra telephoto. From sweeping landscapes, interiors and large group shots to distant sports or wildlife action, the FinePix HS10 really is ready for every photographic challenge thrown at it. And it’s not just the huge zoom that’ll take your breath away: the Fujinon name ensures optical quality across the entire range that you’ll see from the first picture you take. Fujinon lenses are acclaimed by photographers, broadcasters (as the world’s leading manufacturer of television camera lenses) and industrial users across the globe – and even further afield: Fujinon lenses have been used in an orbital satellite to capture high-resolution photos of the surface of the moon.

Triple Image Stabilisation combines a mechanically stabilised CMOS sensor with high ISO sensitivities and advanced digital stabilisation for total anti-blur protection. Together these technologies reduce the blurring effect of both handshake and subject movement to provide sharp, clean and clear results even at the longest zoom settings or in the most challenging lighting conditions.

High Speed, High Definition
Whether you’re shooting stills or movie clips, the FinePix HS10’s cutting-edge sensor and processing technologies open up a range of high speed capture modes and unique shooting possibilities.

When you’re shooting sports action or wildlife – or simply trying to keep up with fast-moving children – the 10 frames-per-second high speed with mechanical shutter continuous shooting*1 and new tracking auto focus feature will ensure you never miss that vital moment. And since the FinePix HS10 can perform its remarkable feat of shooting 10 fps even at the maximum 10 megapixel setting, when you do get the perfect shot you don’t need to worry about having enough resolution for even a large-sized print.

T he FinePix HS10’s unique Best Frame Capture Mode means you don’t need the reactions of a pro sports photographer to get professional results either; in this mode the camera continuously records images from the moment you focus, then saves up to 7 shots before or after you press the shutter release. Capturing action with the FinePix HS10 is so easy it feels like cheating.

The FinePix HS10 also features a full HD movie mode (1080p/30fps) with stereo sound, and the camera’s mini HDMI output allows you to easily display ultra clear high definition photographs and movies on high definition televisions. A new Super High Speed Movie function allows you to freeze action and capture breathtaking movies at up to 1000 frames per second for amazing slow-motion movies that reveal the hidden world of events that normally occur in the blink of an eye.

Advanced modes, limitless expression
The FinePix HS10 boasts several unique features and modes designed to expand shooting possibilities and to take the work out of creating genuinely eye-catching images.

Motion Remover Mode
Remove moving subjects from your shots. This mode captures 5 images of a scene in quick succession; the five images are then analysed and combined in-camera to produce a single image*2 where anything moving in the scene has magically disappeared. Never before has capturing postcard-quality shots of tourist traps – without the tourists – been so easy.
* Multi-Motion Capture Mode
Previously only possible with highly specialised equipment (and more than a dash of time, skill and luck), this mode captures up to 5 images of a moving subject in rapid succession and combines them into a single composite image*2 containing multiple sharply-captured views of the subject motion.
* ‘Pro Low Light’ mode
Combines high and low ISO exposures of the scene being photographed to reduce blur caused by camera shake without significantly increasing image noise. The FinePix HS10 also sports the remarkable ‘Pro Low Light’ mode, first seen on the FinePix S200EXR, which combines several exposures into a single image for ultra-low noise output in low light.
* Motion Panorama Mode
Captures an ultra-wide panoramic view in a single sweeping shot. As you swing the camera (left/right or up/down) the FinePix HS10 captures a series of shots in rapid succession. The shots are then stitched in-camera to produce a seamless panorama.

Setting new standards for low light performance
Thanks to Fujifilm’s award-winning sensor and processing technologies FinePix cameras have become market leaders in low-light performance, setting the standard for high sensitivity, low noise results in the most challenging shooting conditions. The FinePix HS10’s back side illumination CMOS sensor continues this tradition with an innovative new design that significantly increases the light gathering ability of every pixel, resulting in a 200% increase in sensitivity over a conventional CMOS sensor. Combined with Fujifilm’s image processing expertise the new sensor produces stunning richly detailed low noise images, even when shooting in very low light.

The improved sensitivity isn’t just for taking noise-free photographs at night: it also allows the use of high shutter speeds in daylight required when shooting at telephoto end of the FinePix HS10’s 30x zoom, or when attempting to capture fast-moving subjects. Photographers no longer need to worry about blurred pictures with such a long telephoto as they can rely on the FinePix HS10 to produce clear, sharp output even at higher ISO settings.

A true photographer’s camera
As well as a range of advanced automatic functions – including Fujifilm’s acclaimed SR Auto mode – and scene modes designed to produce perfect ‘point and shoot’ results, the FinePix HS10 sports a full complement of sophisticated of manual and semi-automatic shooting modes and photographic controls. The extensive external controls give the more advanced photographer direct access to virtually every control they will need for uninterrupted shooting, and the body includes dedicated buttons for key functions such as ISO, white balance, focus and metering.

The large command dial, manual focus ring, twist and zoom lens barrel, bright, clear electronic viewfinder, high quality tilting LCD screen and deep hand grip ensure the FinePix HS10 handles at least as well as a digital SLR, despite its compact dimensions. AA batteries provide excellent performance (up to 700(TBD) shots per charge when using NiMh cells) combined with the convenience of a universally available format when shooting for extended periods away from mains power.

Other features
In common with all enthusiast-level FinePix models the FinePix HS10 features a range of advanced Fujifilm technologies for picture-perfect results, including ultra-fast Face Detection, Intelligent Flash, automatic red-eye removal and up to 400% expanded dynamic range.

Last but not least, the HS10 sports, for the first time, a clever sensor to the side of the EVF (Electronic Viewfinder). When the user approaches the EVF, the sensor switches the picture to the EVF, and when the eye is withdrawn, the image is automatically switched to the LCD. This novel feature makes the photographer’s life so much easier and increases the speed at which instant shots can be taken.

Small, but powerful
Little bigger than most compact cameras with 4x or 5x zooms, the FinePix F80EXR packs an amazing feature set – including a 10x wide-to-tele optical zoom lens and 3.0” LCD screen – into its ultra-compact, ultra-stylish pocketable body.

The 22.9mm metal chassis oozes quality while the double-coated varnishing not only protects the camera from accidental knocks, but provides a jewellery-like finish.

Super CCD EXR-The Quality Edge
Introduced last year with the FinePix F200EXR, this radical new approach to sensor technology has been met with rave reviews and numerous awards from international industry organisations such as EISA and TIPA. The FinePix F80EXR sports the latest 12 megapixel version of the EXR sensor, offering even higher resolution than its predecessor whilst still offering class-leading dynamic range and low noise/high sensitivity options.

Modeled on the human eye, the EXR sensor’s unique design means that for the first time the user can switch the behaviour of the sensor according to the scene to the photographed. When the light is strong and even, the camera can be switched to HR (High Resolution) mode to ensure every small detail is recorded. When light is strong but contrasty, the sensor can switch to DR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode to get the optimal balance between highlight and shadows. Lastly, in low light the sensor will switch to SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, to ensure clean noise-free pictures even in the darkest conditions.

EXR was developed by Fujifilm to maximise quality in camera designs where larger sensors simply cannot be used, making it perfect for a long zoom compact, delivering extraordinary results even in the most challenging conditions.

EXR Modes – You Decide
The FinePix F80EXR offers the same three EXR Priority modes as its predecessor and the other EXR models higher up the FinePix range. Users can choose between HR ‘Resolution Priority’, SN ‘High ISO & Low Noise Priority’ or DR ‘D-Range Priority’ to suit lighting conditions and their own shooting style and personal preferences.

For the ultimate in ‘point and shoot’ simplicity with perfectly optimised results whatever, whenever and wherever you’re shooting, EXR Auto mode takes the guesswork out of setting the camera by doing everything for you. With six pre-set scene modes covering the most popular subjects; Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Night, Night Portrait, and Backlit Portrait, EXR Auto automatically detects the scene and not only optimises the focus, exposure and white balance but chooses the optimum EXR mode, too. Taking great photos couldn’t get any easier.

10x Fujinon zoom lens
Despite its pocket-friendly size, the FinePix F80EXR’s 10x zoom lens offers a hugely versatile 27-270mm range (35mm camera equivalent) from wide-angle to telephoto. From sweeping landscapes, interiors and large group shots to distant sports or wildlife action, the FinePix F80EXR opens up a world of photographic possibilities you can carry with you wherever you go. The FinePix F80EXR’s Dual Image Stabilisation mode combines a mechanically stabilized CCD sensor with high ISO sensitivities for total anti-blur protection. The combination of these technologies reduces the blurring effect of both hand-shake and subject movement even further to provide sharp, clean and clear results even at the longest zoom settings or in the most challenging lighting conditions.

It’s all in the lens
Long zoom compacts depend heavily on the quality of the optics, so no expense has been spared to provide the FinePix F80EXR with the sharpest, clearest Fujinon 10x zoom lens. The lens features Super Electronic Beam Coating (EBC), the original coating system of Fujinon that keeps ghosting and flare to a minimum to promise optimal picture quality. The Fujinon name ensures optical quality across the entire range that you’ll see from the first picture you take. Fujinon lenses are acclaimed by photographers, broadcasters (as the world’s leading manufacturer of television camera lenses) and industrial users across the globe – and even further afield: Fujinon lenses have been used in an orbital satellite to capture high-resolution photos of the surface of the moon.
New: HD Movie/still Capture
The FinePix F80EXR features a high resolution HD movie mode (720p) with sound, and the camera’s micro HDMI output allows you to easily display ultra clear high definition photographs and movies on high definition televisions.

High Contrast 3.0” LCD
The high contrast LCD is a considerable benefit in bright light. The Wide View Filter on the LCD means that the camera can be pitched at various shooting angles to enable framing of awkward shots. Viewable at 160 degrees in both vertically and horizontally, the LCD is bright and clear for beautiful rendition of shots in playback, and with a new, large 3” LCD, your images will look that extra bit beautiful in ‘shoot’ mode or playback.

NEW: Face Recognition technology
For the first time on a F series Fujifilm camera you can identify the people in a picture by name! Face Recognition technology gives you the ability to pre-programme eight people into the camera. To do this you need to take a photo of the person you want to programme in and then tell the camera that that is “Mum”. You also have the option of inputting the category she belongs to (e.g.: friends/family), and when her Birthday is. Then the next time you try to take a photo of her the camera will cleverly recognise “Mum” and optimise the settings to ensure that exposure and focus are best suited to her rather than the other people in the picture. This fun technology can recognise and display up to five pre-programmed people on screen at the same time.

NEW: Pet Detection technology
Calling all animal lovers… why should people be the only ones to have all the fun? Fujifilm have developed a new Pet Detection feature which ensures you take great photographs of your pets. As any cat or dog owner will tell you, it’s difficult to get them to sit still long enough to take a good shot. Available in the Scene Mode settings, “Cat” and “Dog” are two new modes*1 which will guarantee that you get a good picture of the extra member of the family! This works in a similar way to Face Detection, but can only take front on images, not profile shots.

Tracking AF
The FinePix F80EXR’s new Tracking AF function means that users can track a moving subject whilst ensuring focus is maintained, even when using the full 10x zoom. This feature is ideal for kids who are always on the go, dogs bounding through fields, or Dads wanting to capture the perfect sports action shot. Simply focus, press the shutter half way and the camera will lock on to the subject, ready for you to take the perfect shot.

Underwater mode
With the optional waterproof case and Underwater mode to adjust colour temperature for more beautiful blues with easy setting, you are ready to dive into another world of photography. White Balance (underwater) is also featured so that user can manually change settings in underwater to capture aspiring underwater photography.

NEW Auto Picture Rotation: A useful new function that ensures your photos are always the right way around in playback. Whether you have taken a landscape or portrait image, you can enjoy your pictures whichever way around you are holding the camera, as the image will rotate in the screen or PC to suit.

Super Intelligent Flash
The FinePix F80EXR is fitted with a class-leading flash control system that efficiently controls the flash power to produce beautifully balanced flash illumination across the foreground and background, even in macro mode. Gone are the ugly washout shots where the subject is blasted with light and the background dark and unexposed.

Film Modes
Similar to other high-end FinePix models, the FinePix F80EXR offers five different film ‘modes’ to allow the photographer full creative expression to explore a variety of pre-set colour and contrast modes designed around Fujifilm’s most famous film emulsions. The modes are: Velvia/Vivid (for dramatic full saturation colour), PROVIA/Standard (for classic ‘neutral’ photography), ASTIA/Soft (for gentle, low contrast portraiture and soft, fine, smooth tonality), Sepia (for antique, warms tones) and Black & White (for dramatic monotones).

DSLR-like Effects with Pro-Focus Mode
One of the ways to distinguish DSLR photography from compact camera photography has been the use of a wide aperture to produce a narrow depth of field separating the main subject from a soft background. The same effect is now possible on the FinePix F80EXR, thanks to its innovative Pro Focus Mode. Through complex digital imaging technology, several exposures are combined to create a crisp shot of the subject against a defocused background and foreground. Ideal for portraiture, nature photography or any subject that needs ‘lifting’ from its background, the FinePix F80EXR Pro Focus Mode provides satisfying professional results at the touch of a button.

The Pro Low-light Mode combines a burst of 4 high sensitivity images using SN mode *2 in quick succession. Using sophisticated Multi Frame Technology, all four images are merged to create one image with extremely low noise.

*1 Detects faces at any angle but detects pets faces frontally only (i.e. not in profile)
*2 SN Mode, (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, which caps two adjacent pixels together to produce 6 million large photodiodes, which are big enough to absorb light in the darkest of conditions, to produce low-light shots of extraordinary quality with minimal noise and grain

New Olympus µ TOUGH-8010 and µ TOUGH-6020

When the going gets tough, the tough get going, so the saying goes. And that’s certainly true of the Olympus µ TOUGH-8010 and µ TOUGH-6020. Whether you soak them, drop them, or freeze them, these 14 Megapixel action cameras just keep on performing, taking outstanding pictures and HD movies. Up to 5x wide zoom brings you right to where the action is, and the built-in Dual Image Stabilisation helps during fast-paced chaotic shoots. These tough cookies can store even more with up to 2GB internal memory, and you can intuitively surf through your albums using the new [ib] software. Essential companions on any adventure, the Olympus µ TOUGH-8010 and µ TOUGH-6020 are available to buy from March 2010 for a retail price of £399.99 and £319.99 respectively.

Waterproof to up to 10m*3, shockproof to falls of up to 2m*2 and freezeproof down to as low as -10°C, the µ TOUGH-8010 and µ TOUGH-6020 have a range of new functions to help you capture the excitement:

  • 5x wide zoom lens
  • 14 Megapixels
  • HD movie recording and HDMI interface
  • 1-2GB internal memory and SD card slot
  • Photo Surfing
  • [ib] software
  • Improved Tap Control
  • USB charging

With the new features, it’s never been so easy to keep track of the latest tricks on the half-pipe or a climb to the mountain top. A versatile 5x wide optical zoom (28-140mm*1) ensures great group photos or close-ups of distant subjects. In addition, every move can be recorded with the HD movie function or integrated into a slideshow and then viewed comfortably on a TV set connected via HDMI. And by using Photo Surfing to select and look at pictures of anything from an afternoon on the sailboat to a child’s birthday, there’s no longer any need to tediously click through the whole library. This is possible thanks to Olympus’ [ib] technology. The new image browsing software allows pictures to be tagged by face with Face Recognition technology, by place (with GPS) or by event. The tagged images can then be surfed through on the camera’s LCD, on a computer or a television.

Both the 14 Megapixel µ TOUGH-8010 and µ TOUGH-6020 offer plenty of space for all those special moments: aside from an impressive 2GB and 1GB of internal memory respectively, an SD card slot is sure to be useful. The In-Camera Manual on the other hand, makes navigating the cameras and finding out how to operate certain functions a breeze. Tap Control has also been improved and now allows scrolling by tilting the camera body in addition to control through taps on the casing, perfect for gloved hands. Underwater fans will appreciate knowing where they are going with LED illumination. They can also get a feel for where they are with µ TOUGH-8010’s manometer. Of course, a variety of trusted Olympus features from Magic Filters and Beauty Mode to i-Auto, AF Tracking and Dual Image Stabilisation are also on board to make sure you don’t miss that perfect shot.

Incredibly resistant through anodised aluminium plating and double sealing, these cameras were made for adventure inside and out. Their displays’ HC III “triple coating” protects it against reflection even under direct bright sunlight, scratches, and moisture for comfortable shooting while a stronger metal lens barrier ensures lenses are out of harms way. A double lock mechanism on the cover for the battery, memory slot and ports offers extra security.

Fujifilm’s FinePix Z700EXR – Ultra Compact Camera With GPS and HD Movie Recording

Fujifilm are proud to announce the launch of the FinePix Z700EXR, the first in a new class of EXR touch screen camera. Combining beautiful styling, award-winning EXR sensor technology and showcasing a gorgeous 3.5 inch touch screen LCD and a new YouTube/Facebook easy web upload tool, the Z700EXR really is a joy to handle.

With advanced features including an internal Fujinon 5x zoom lens, 12 megapixel resolution, 720p HD image capture, ISO to 3200 at full resolution and Dual Image Stabilisation, the Z700EXR will produce images that are just as magnificent as the camera itself.

Beautiful to look at, beautiful to use
The FinePix Z700EXR’s sensational design oozes luxury. The 16.7mm slim metal body features a smart horizontal lens cover with wave detail, which neatly acts as the on/off switch with a cool “Z” motif that lights up when the camera is in operation. And thanks to its petite build, it can be slipped in to any pocket or bag so it’s always ready for action.

However, the Z700EXR’s real talking point is its intuitive touch screen technology. The 3.5 inch touch screen display panel facilitates effortless navigation of the camera’s many functions. This responsive touch screen not only lets you take and view photos at the touch of a finger, but also provides a large, bright screen to compose and admire your photos.

With the addition of new Dual Direction GUI and Dual Image Display travelling though the Z700EXR’s functions is smooth and easy; Dual Direction GUI detects the orientation of the camera and automatically switches the direction of the menu button accordingly (for shooting, playback, multi-viewing and image search), while Dual Image Display splits the screen in various ways to view multiple images at once, so you can scroll through your images quickly and easily to locate the one you are looking for.

Advanced features at your fingertips
Inside the slim metal chassis hides a generous, high-quality Fujinon 5x zoom lens (36-180mm equivalent). These world renowned high-precision optics will deliver pin-sharp results across the entire zoom range, be in dramatic close-up shots or wide-angle compositions.

What’s more, the Z700EXR incorporates Fujifilm’s award-winning Super CCD EXR sensor, prized for bringing a new level of image quality to the consumer compact market. EXR has the unique ability to switch its behaviour dependent on the shooting conditions; it can be left on EXR Auto, or alternatively you can manually select the EXR Priority mode for high resolution (HR), dynamic range (DR) or high sensitivity and low noise (SN).

The Z700EXR features Dual Image Stabilisation (CCD-shift) to minimise image blur. With high sensitivity settings up to ISO 3200 at full resolution, this camera is an excellent low-light performer. Additionally, it features Pro Low-light Mode which uses multi-frame technology to produce images with impressive clarity at high ISO levels, perfect when shooting subjects like cityscapes in poor light conditions.

High Performance meets HD
HD is a must-have for the Z700EXR’s target audience. With 720p HD image and movie capture, they can rest assured that their memories are being captured in HD and they will be able to re-live them in glorious high definition on any HD ready television*1.

NEW Facebook & YouTube Folders
Fujifilm has introduced a new Facebook/YouTube Easy Upload feature which again is perfectly suited to the target audience of this product. Users can mark their favourite images and videos to a Facebook folder or YouTube folder so they are all ready to go when they next connect to their computer. No more time is wasted sorting through pictures on the computer – just connect to MyFinePix Studio (supplied with the camera), and all marked images and videos will upload directly to the respective site at the press of a button.

Fun NEW Features
Taking Face detection technology to the next level, Face Recognition technology has been developed by Fujifilm which allows you to pre-programme the Z700EXR to recognise up to eight people. Once you have set it up it will optimise the settings to ensure that your favourite people are always given preference when the camera is calculating focus and exposure.

In playback mode you can use a new Picture Search tool to search by name, for example bring up all the photos with ‘Tom’ in them. In addition you can also use this search function to sort by Scene type (Macro, Landscape, Portrait etc), and even by images that have been earmarked for Facebook upload.

The Z700EXR isn’t just all about people; it’s got some clever Pet Detection technology, too. This works in a similar way to Face Detection technology, and can identify up to ten cats or dogs in a scene and optimises the settings for your four-legged friends rather than any distracting background. So, whether you’re snapping your feline friends or in true Paris Hilton style capturing a portrait of your pooch, you can be sure your pet pictures are immaculate.
