Is Sony RX100 V Coming in June 2016 ? If we look at previous trends of Sony (from last four years) Sony usually updates Sony RX100 series camera on June month of every year. We do hope that Sony will bring a brand new Sony RX100 V camera this year too.

from the past experiences they won’t upgrade the sensor rather they are likely to upgade the design and also hopefully the lens.
On my guess list – but remember educated guesses :
Lens with longer range : maybe 24-100mm instead of 24-70.
Improved interface : maybe we will finally see a touchscreen in a Sony camera
If the Sensor gets an Ubread buest guess would be the inclusion of phase detect AF / Hybrid AF
I agree, as they have done with RX100 M1 and M2, the M2 carries only WiFi and NFC and rest of the core specification of both the camera is same.
Sony RX100 M3 also carry same sensor as of previous two models but the lens is new.
The Sony RX100 M4 carry same lens as RX100 M3 but the sensor is new (stacked CMOS).
I think this time the sensor will remains same but can upgrade lens as you have mentioned in your comment 24-100mm instead of 24-70.
Waiting for Sony RX100 V camera, but my main problem is the cost of the tiny camera crossing the price tag of entry level DSLRs with APS-C sensor.
My question is ….will you get better output from a RX100 series camera or a entry level DSLR with 50mm F1.8 Lens ?
I just want Sony to keep the camera price constant between 600 to $700, not more than that.

what i demand from sony RX100 mark V
1) 24-100 mm focal length lens
2) 12 MP Dual pixel PDAF with CDAF( just like sony IMX260 immage sensor in samsung galaxy s7 it is a great sensor but with 1 inch 12mp dual pixel just think how good it will perform in low light , iso , video quality , dynamic range etc ) it pisses me off when some kid comes with their samsung s7 or iPhone 6s and performs better in AF than my sony RX100 Mark IV , i would rather invest in dedicated camera with Magnesium alloy body like sony RX100 Mark V and kick smart phone camera’s ass .
3)better Bionx cpu at 10 nm transistor node , for cooler operation in 4K at 60fps
4) better slow mo at 1080p at 480 fps to 2000fps at lower resolution
5)1080p at 120 fps recording
6) and yes XQD card for
7)touch screen , to use touch focus
i think future of digital photography is unification of videography and stills , in which we can grab 8mp still from 4k vid now or 33mp still from 8k vid ,

I don’t work at Sony.
But do you know Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s Kumamoto Technology Center (located in Kikuchi Gun, Kumamoto Prefecture) hit by earthquake and expected to resume its production on May 21 2016. Kumamoto Technology Center is the main sensor manufacturing unit of Sony cameras.
And as far as I know Halt in the production pushes back everything, if they can’t complete a job in a given time, the other job rest in stack.

The Sony RX100 V, should come with a grip – equal to tz100 the panasonic – or G7x II Canon – stop being equal cigarette portfolio.

There was a sony camera rep at the best buy store here in Chicago a couple days ago. I asked him when there would be an announcement of the RX 100 V and he said late this year or in 2017.. primarily due to issues after the earthquake. I really hope this isn’t true though – been waiting for the mark V…
Looking like it’s true about being delayed. I was really hoping this would be out by at least August. Now it seems highly unlikely.

Sony alpha a9 arrival date is fix, the RX100 V and A7III announcement date is yet to be decided.

Will Sony reveal RX100 V at Photokina 2016? In Europe, Germany none is speaking about it. There are some community forums talking about 24-100 or even 24-120 mm.
