According to the latest rumors surfaced over the web, Canon is about to announce a new entry-level full-frame Mirrorless lens this month, the Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens. Well, we do have a super outdated Canon EOS Rp waiting for an update, and if you want to have an affordable kit zoom lens then the most affordable lens we have in Canon is RF24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM (Amazon.com | B&H Store). So, while adding one more entry-level lens to RF Mount they want to make a wider reach to the consumer base.

In that article, Canon wrote “expand our market share and maintain high profitability by building a more robust EOS R system lineup” the line suggests that Canon is planning to announce a new camera model or models that will attract and expand the user base of interchangeable lens cameras. It was a very clear indication from the text that this year in 2023. Canon will put more focus on expanding its consumer base rather than focusing on professional solutions. Now, not only this lens, we do hope and expect this year Canon will also update its entry-level line-up too which includes Canon Rp (Canon Rp mark II or Canon R9) and Canon EOS R update (Canon EOS R Mark II or Canon R8).
