Sony A9 Visited DXO Lab

Sony-A9-vs-Sony-A7R-III-cam

As expected the Sony A9 outshines flagship DSLRs and high-end Mirrorless during the test. Sony A9 is flagship Fullframe mirrorless camera of Sony, dedicated for speed and accuracy. The Sony A9 Test scores are amazing and we have no doubt about its performance. Take a look at pics below

The overall score of Sony A7R II is still superior compared to Sony A9 camera, however if we look at the test results then the overall test score of Sony A9 camera look superior compared to flaship DSLRs. Now lt’s look at some other test scores of the same camera….

1DX-Mark-II-and-D5-scores-i

DxO has zero credibility with those low loifght figures for the 1DXII and D5. Saying the A7RII is better at high ISO is so full of crap it’s not funny. Having compared all these cameras many times in RAW, the D5 is clearly superior to all the others followed by the 1DXII. The A7RII is close when renormalised to 20MP but is NOT better, and in fact is about identical to the 5D4.

So the A9 is in no way better IQ wise. Same DR as the 1DXII, same colour depth, worse high ISO. Seems to be a bit of Sony bias going on here, and no I don’t own the D5 or 1DXII.
