Both Sony SLT A35 and Nikon D3100 comes at same price, Sony A35 have more megapixel, better and fast autofocus compared to Nikon D3100, better ISO range, fast continuous burst mode, better movie mode and a high resolution LCD.
Conclusion : No reason to buy Nikon D3100, Sony A35 is the best entry level DSLR today.
