Nikon D610 vs Nikon D800: The Nikon D800 have built-in low pass filter and on the other hand the Nikon D610 doesn’t have a optical low pass filter, so at the end we have bit less details (yes flat on some parts) in D800 image when viewed at 100%, but the color noise is very less compared to Nikon D610,.  The Nikon D800 is a good camera and its image is usable upto 12800.  Also see specification comparison review Nikon D610 vs D800

Nikon-D610-vs-Sony-A7-image

The Sony A7 noise reduction filter is bit more aggressive, Sony A7 details are almost flat at 25600 and some details are visible at 12800.

At the end we have a lot of noise reduction software, so noise can be removed later but when details are lost they can’t be retrieved, the final decision is your.

  • The Nikon D610/D800, Canon 5D Mark iiii, and the Sony a7 are all great cameras, even though they are not new releases. Those individuals who own them should be satisfactory owners for a long time. Unless they want to upgrade, sooner or later.
