The world’s thinnest, full 1080P high definition pocket video camcorder, is also the world’s smallest 14 Mega Pixel compact digital still camera, and the same size as a credit card.
The fully automatic and easy to use ‘one-touch’ camera has excellent low light performance and can outperform much larger and bulky rivals. It’s benefits include many high end camera features such as ultra fast Auto Focus (for swift click to capture), Super Macro (for detail close up shots), Image Stabilization (to reduce blurring during motion capture) and Face Recognition (for automatically identifying a human face in an image or video). For extra creative shooting flexibility, some DSLR type manual controls are included such as mechanical shutter and continuous variable aperture.
Main features
14 Megapixel Image Sensor
1080P high definition pocket video
speaker plus twin miniature microphones (with noise cancellation)
scratch resistant magnesium body
energy efficient 2.4″ AMOLED Display with solid state touch sensitive controls
Data storage up to 32GB (images and video)
Built-in LED flash
Action and Panorama mode (for creating panoramic shots).
Adriano and Mark of Media Ball set out to the park on a Sunday afternoon to give us a different perspective on Cyclops and to demonstrate how it is a real game changer. No pun intended. The piece was shot using Cinevate’s Atlas 30 DSLR/Video Slider, Titan Swing-away Mattebox and Medusa Cage.
A WORD FROM PENTAX IMAGING USA REGARDING THE K-5 SENSOR STAINS
A batch of Pentax K-5(many of them) have the same sensor stain issue, as written in enticingthelight.com website
I’ve been in contact with Pentax Imaging President, Ned Bunnell, and here is what he had to say concerning this matter:
I can confirm that Pentax Japan is fully aware of this situation and is diligently investigating the cause of these stains. I’d like to remind our US customers that their K-5 is covered under the 1-year warranty and that we’ll of course honor that. However, until we find out which batch(es) are affected by the stains, we recommend that photographers keep their cameras and refrain from exchanging them for another unit if purchased from an online retailer. Once we fully understand the origin of the stains and how to deal with them we will encourage affected K-5 owners to send in their cameras for warranty repair.
Update: Thanks so much for all your comments! I am reading them all and enjoy them a lot! I am sorry I can’t reply to all of you. I am traveling at the moment and only have internet access once in a while. I hope to get to all the questions eventually. Thanks again!
A collection of time lapses I took around the San Francisco Bay Area roughly shot over the period of one year.
Carl Zeiss launched its annual global photography competition. This year’s theme is “Light is my language”. Photographers and photo enthusiasts are invited to illustrate and capture the theme from their own perspective. Anyone can participate, provided the images are shot with ZEISS lenses. It doesn’t matter if the picture was taken with an SLR camera or a camera phone.
“Light is the most important creative means in photography. Every photographer speaks his own language and ultimately expresses his creative messages through light and shadow,” explains Martin Klottig, Marketing Manager of the Carl Zeiss Camera Lens Division. There are many ways of expressing one’s creativity through light and shadow. With light reflections, messages in bokeh (the out-of-focus area of an image), colorful accents derived from long exposure times or the soft glimmer of barely discernable light, photographers give their images meaning. “We are looking for photographers who can make something visible that would otherwise remain hidden. The award-winning pictures will exude both creativity and conscious composition,” adds Klottig.
For the first time, anyone will be able to follow the competition during its entire duration on Flickr, the global online photo community. Participants in the competition should upload their best image that fits the “Light is my language” theme and tag it with the keyword “ZEISSContest2010” on the official Carl Zeiss group on Flick.
The jury
Pictures can be submitted until Sunday, January 16, after which a jury will select the 10 best images. The jury will assess pictures on their creativity and technical execution of the concept. The highest number of points will be given to exciting images that have been created before and during the shutter release, with as little revising and adapting of the image as possible.
What you can win
From the 10 shortlisted images, the Flickr community will then select the three best images by designating them as a “favorite”.
First prize is your choice of a ZEISS SLR lens.
Second place is worth a cinemizer Plus, including a Nokia N8.
The third place winner will receive a Sony DSC-TX9 compact camera with ZEISS optics.
