Sony ZV-E10 Mark II Coming Before June 2024 [More Confirmation]

According to the latest rumors, we have the Sony ZV-E10 camera coming in the spring of 2024, a timeline between March and June. The camera is said to feature a higher resolution sensor of the Sony a6700 [26MP Exmor R APS-C BSI CMOS Sensor] camera and an improved touch display screen with an updated Sony menu system and a dedicated AI chip processor. The core specs shared by the rumor mill somehow look very similar to the specs that we have seen earlier, which is a perfect thing.

Sony ZV-E10 Mark II Specification [Rumored]

  • 26MP Exmor R APS-C BSI CMOS Sensor
  • BIONZ XR Image Processor
  • UHD 4K 120p / FHD 240p / 10-Bit 4:2:2
  • Up to 11-fps Shooting, ISO 100-32000
  • Real-Time Tracking AF for Stills & Video
  • 759-Point Phase Detection, 93% Coverage
  • S-Log3, S-Gamut3, S-Cinetone, User LUTs
  • Internal Mic + Inputs, USB Streaming
  • 3″ 1.03m-Dot Vari-Angle LCD Touchscreen
  • Price $798 [Bodly Only] | $899 With 16-50mm Lens | $1199 Creator Kit (Wireless grip + Shotgun Mic) | $1399 with 10-20mm Lens

Since the camera comes with a higher resolution sensor, we do expect the introduction of an advanced BIONZ XR image processor inside the camera to upscale the readout speed of the sensor like we have in the Sony a6700 camera. Otherwise, recording 4K videos on the go will be a big challenge for the camera.

In any of those situations, if Sony updates the sensor as well as the processor of the camera and if you believe the rumor mills, they are also planning to introduce a dedicated AI chip. The Price of the upcoming camera will be higher than the existing Sony ZV-E10. So it looks like Sony’s previous update policy where the price of the predecessor and its position remains the same even after the announcement of its successor since it generally arrives with a higher price tag. So there is a high probability that the ZV-E10 camera may remain in its place and the Sony ZV-E10 Mark II may arrive with a higher price tag and sit in between the pricing of the Sony a6700 camera and the existing Sony ZV-E10.

Sony A6700R and Sony FX50 Rumor

According to the latest rumors coming from the rumor mill, Sony FX 50 and Sony a6700 are maybe in the announcement pipeline. Take a look at the specifications of the rumored cameras below.

A6700 R coming in 2024

We do not have much information about the Sony a6700R camera. In the Sony A7 series, the ‘R’ is denoted for resolution and we already have a 6700 camera with a 26-megapixel resolution. So, there is a possibility that Sony may introduce the Sony A6700R and Sony A6700s line of cameras, similar to their full-frame series lineup. It is really interesting to see what happens next.

Sony FX50 Rumored specification
New FX50 you mentioned, has the highest dynamic range of almost all Sony full frame sensors. it is 35mm.
Has : Autofocus, IBIS, electronic variable ND.
Same style of body like Canon C70 but slimmer and lighter.
Around 3000$ launch price.
Not FX 30 sensor.
Higher dynamic range at least 15.
Very cheap rival to Arri Alexa and C70.

The next rumor is about Sony FX50 and the rumored core specs look very promising. There is high probability the camera will have an APS-C / Super 35mm sensor may be the same as A6700.. or something brand new sensor optimized for recoding video. These specs look very promising. At the same time, we do know that last year, the Sony ZV-E10 camera contributed to 50% of the overall sales of Sony Alpha series cameras. So, Sony is now more serious about developing their video lineup of cameras and in 2024 we may see multiple related announcements. So yes, there is a high probability that we may see FX50 or something similar to that in 2024.

Sony A6200 with 26MP and More...

According to the latest set of rumors, the Sony A6200 camera will arrive with the same 26MP sensor, and at the same time the Sony A7 V camera is expected to arrive with 49 MP sensor take a look

Sony ZV-E10 II 26M (no mechanical shutter), A7M5 49M, A6200 26M, A7S4 40M (new processor features), FX3 II 12M (electronic ND + IBIS).

The above upcoming details are expectations from a Chinese source,  Although it looks quite logical to me, at the same time if Sony continues to raise the resolution bar of the A7 Series camera [Sony A7 V ] then what will happen to the Sony A7R series? will they shift the A7R camera series resolution to 100MP in upcoming cameras of the future? who knows, maybe the Sony A7R VI may have it.

Sony A7S IV is said to feature a 40MP sensor, if that happens for sure we will witness the introduction of 8k recording capability in the Sony A7S series camera, and FX3 II will have a 12MP (electronic ND + IBIS), well why one will buy FX3 II limited to 4K when one has an option of Sony A7S IV with 8K capability, a bit contradicting specification here but let’s see what happens next

A look back at some previous rumors –

A few days ago we received rumors, that the Sony ZV-E10 mark II will have the same 26 MP sensor as the Sony A6700 camera. and the camera is expected to arrive before August 2024.

We have published Rumors related to the upcoming Sony A7 V,  we are expecting the Sony A7 IV camera to arrive with a Sony 44 MP sensor.

We will post more updates as soon as we get any.

Sony FX6 Mark II or FX9 Mark II? Sony Next Announcement on Jan 8, 2024

Sony is holding a press event on January 8, 2024, at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.  According to the latest information coming from rumor mills, Sony is expected to announce a new FX Cinema Line camera. There will be no Sony Alpha camera announcement on Jan 8, 2024. However, it’s unclear which FX Cinema camera is about to arrive at the Sony Jan CES 2024 event. So, we have two options either Sony will bring the Sony FX6 Mark II or we will see a brand new Sony FX9 Mark II, the chances of having a Sony FX3 Mark II are slightly less compared to the two mentioned earlier. So, now cross your fingers, and let’s wait for the next update to arrive, although Jan 8, isn’t too far from today.

Unbelievable! Sony A7 V May Feature a 44-Megapixel Sensor

The upcoming Sony A7V camera may feature a 44-megapixel full-frame BSI CMOS sensor. Although the sensor isn’t very new it was published back in April, but the sensor specs fit the upcoming Sony A7V camera profile very well. The sensor features a 16-lane high-speed interface standard developed by Sony Semiconductors. This is approximately 2x faster than the Sony A7R 5 camera’s 61 MP sensor and the Sony a6700 camera’s 26 MP sensor, both of which are limited to 8 lanes. The recently announced 44 MP sensor doubles the speed of data transfer.

The maximum burst speed or continuous shooting speed of the sensor is up to 26 frames per second with all-pixel readout without any line skipping. The sensor is also able to record 12-bit 8K videos at up to 30 frames per second.

It all depends on Sony now. The big question is whether Sony will select the Sony A7 V model to bring these important updates to their ecosystem at a reasonable price tag, or they will wait for further updates like the Sony A7 VI camera body to introduce a 44 MP sensor and 8K video recording capability.

What will Sony bring next? So now it depends on Sony what they will do, they can even bring out the Sony A7 IV R model if they wish to. But, in general, if we look at their current lineup, without further expanding it they have two options: keep Sony’s 33 MP A74 Camera sensor and update rest of the core specification by introducing a dedicated AI chip. Since we already have the BIONZ XR image processor paired with the Sony A7 4 camera, adding a dedicated AI chip inside the Sony A7 4 camera can bring a mid-core update to the market. OR, they can put a Major update by surprising all competitors with a brand new 44MP sensor-based camera and 8K video recording capability.

Here is what a Sony A7 V camera specs would look like if they introduced a 44MP sensor inside the Sony A7 V camera body.

Sony A7 V Specification [Expectations]

44MP Full-Frame Exmor R CMOS BSI Sensor
AI-Based Real-Time Tracking AF System
Up to 26 fps Cont. Shooting with AF/AE
BIONZ XR & AI Processing Unit
4K 16-Bit Raw Output; S-Log3/S-Cinetone
8k 30fps, 4K 120p, FHD 240p 12-Bit Video
8-Stop 5-Axis Image Stabilization
Focus Breathing Compensation
AI Autoframing | User up-loadable Luts
Dual CFexpress Type A/SD Card Slots

The above is the expected set set core specs, we would like to see inside the Sony A7 V camera. We will post an update soon as we get any new information related to the upcoming cameras.

Sony ZV-E10 Mark II Coming Before August 2024

According to the latest set of rumors we have from the rumor mill, the Sony ZV-E10 Mark II camera will have the same 26-megapixel APS-C sensor that we have seen in the Sony A6700 camera. Most of the core specs of the A6700 camera will arrive in the successor of the ZV-E10, including a dedicated AI chip, and 4K recording up to 120fps. The only two things that we will miss in the Sony ZV-E10 Mark 2 are the sensor-shift image stabilization of the A6700 camera as well as the electronic viewfinder. But having this set of core specifications indicates it’s not coming in the same price range as the ZV-E10 camera for sure. It will have a higher price range as the ZV-E10 will remain in its position price-wise. So actually, there is no true successor to the Z10 camera coming right now.
