Back in 2018 when Canon EOS Rp and Canon EOS R were announced alongside Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras. We were expecting a sync in updates between canon and Nikon as it was in the DSLR era.
Nikon updated the Z6 and Z7 cameras on Oct 2020, with Z6 II and Z7 II cameras. But Canon remained silent, and now again as per Nikon’s scheduled update / latest rumors we are getting strong hints about the arrival of Nikon Z6 Mark III and Z7 III end of 2022 or at the very beginning month of 2023.
Now we are about to witness the third gen of Nikon Mirrorless cameras, but the Canon 2nd gen update is still pending why?

According to the latest rumors, we have the Canon EOS R Mark II camera prototypes are already in wild. One of the prototypes of the camera features a Digic X Image processor, and an updated 30.3MP CMOS sensor [Microlenses structure updated just like the R10 and R7 sensors]. The camera is able to record High-Quality Images with more details and the ability to shoot uncropped 4K up to 30fps.
2. Canon EOS R Mark II | Canon R8 Rumored Specification
