We are waiting for the Viltrox mirrorless camera. Still, today, what we have seen in a Weibo post is really surprising: a small yellow plastic camera labelled “Viltrox Toy Camera” has started circulating on Chinese social media. Which is shared by the Weibo account, the photos show a compact device inside a yellow box, complete with retro-style stripes and the marking “1839”.
At first glance, it looks like the long-rumoured Viltrox camera might have finally appeared. However, a closer look suggests otherwise.
It’s a toy and not officially confirmed by Viltrox itself; it looks very much like the Kodak Keychain Camera, which is ultra-popular among Gen Z and newbie bloggers.

What Exactly Is Shown in the Images?
As you can see, the camera is incredible, small, and for sure, this is not made for professional photographers or the rumoured L/Z Mount mirror camera that we are seeing right now.
The Kokdal Keychain-style camera from Viltrox, which we have mentioned above, features a fixed lens, a basic viewfinder, and a simple flash unit on the side. The design has a playful, retro aesthetic with horizontal bands in yellow, blue, and beige.
No Official Word from Viltrox
Maybe these are some early pictures of the upcoming Viltrox tiny kids camera, but for now, we have checked all the official media pages of the lens maker, and we are not able to find any authentic set of information that tells us that Viltrox has officially entered the camera business with this tiny compact camera.
The company has been actively releasing new autofocus lenses (including recent EVO series models) and accessories like flashes, but there has been no indication of a camera body — toy or otherwise — entering production.
How Does This Relate to Existing Viltrox Camera Rumours?
We do have very strong rumours related to the development of the Viltrox Mirrorless camera. This news and information have been floating around for months. The latest speculation, reported earlier this month, suggested a possible Nikon Z-mount model. At the beginning, we got strong hints related to the development of L-Mount-based Mirrorless camera from Viltrox, so its all Chaos for now in the rumour world. All these claims, however, remain unconfirmed and are based largely on forum discussions and a Chinese patent filing.
In the past, Viltrox has clarified that it is focused on lenses and camera accessories rather than manufacturing camera bodies itself.
For now, any actual Viltrox camera body remains speculative. We’ll continue monitoring for credible updates from official sources.
