According to latest rumors Panasonic giving hints about possible announcement of Panasonic 8K Video camera in near future. It all started with an interview, Panasonic France Manager clearly hinted that they can make Panasonic 8K M4/3 camera in near future. Take a look at the statement

Olympus 8K Mirrorless camera in Future RoadMap
It all started with Olympus, when the reveled their future strategy in their Annual Report of 2017. In an Annual report published by Olympus mentioned about the development of 8K video and PRO Lenses for their MFT lineup

1) Focus on the development of high-value-added mirrorless cameras (primarily OM-D series) and interchangeable lenses
(PRO series) boasting competitive prices
2) Develop systems that allow for improved efficiency in new product manufacturing start-ups and mass production by
transferring production to Vietnam
3) Establish comprehensive range of technologies for 4K and 8K video, development of devices necessary for recording at
these resolutions, and optimization of interface with outputs (monitors)
So, competition is always very healthy and consumers will get advantage of it. But at the same time are we ready for 8K on our camera. Since we need high speed processing computers and 8K display units.

No, you don’t get the Super35mm look, but they’re still capturing more light than the classic 1/3″ pro 3-chippers. A BSI sensor for m43 at 40 megapixels (yielding an 8K 16:9 crop) makes as much sense as a 1″ 20 megapixel sensor.
