  • The Nikon D5 is soon to arrive. Nikon’s big bonanza. Expensive it will be to those who will buy it. I am wondering how long Nikon will take to make its highest end camera a mirrorless. Nikon and Canon are still kings of cameras. But with the introduction of the newest Sony A77r mirrorless camera, with an incredible 42 megapixels, that is some advancement. Now, you don’t need 42 megapixels to get fine photos. But. Sony went to the E-mount for this generation of their mirrorless. Previously the A-mount was tantamount. If Nikon goes to mirrorless on a future highest end camera. The designers are going to have to figured out how the millions of F-mount lenses will be compatible with the new mirrorless cameras. I know of two individuals who sold their Nikon D800 and Canon 5d Mark II to buy Sony’s newest 42 megapixels A77r. Knowing that Sony’s selection of lenses don’t match Canon or Nikon’s.
