  This is interesting. The D5, most expensive camera that Nikon makes, $6500.00, and it was just released, and it has less 4K video time than the lesser expensive D500, and needs a firmware update due in March 2016. Firmwares are common with Nikon. No one is going to complain about a firmware improvement. But this should have been done before releasing the D5. A lot of amateur photographers don’t like doing firmware updates, fearing something may go haywire. So they take it to an authorized Nikon Service facility. Everyone is not a computer guru. The Nikon D7100 has a firmware update just late last year, among others. I suppose if you don’t trust doing this update yourself, a Nikon Service facility will do it under warranty. Perhaps anyone owning such an expensive camera, from past experience, should be able to do firmware blindfolded via computer.
