in high range (and highly recommended) you have AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II

  • Hi,
I’m Sawan. I’m going to buy Nikon D5200 by next month but bit confused over the lens. 18-55mm lens comes as standard. Can anyone suggest some better lens than standard 18-55? I’m a beginner in photographer and want to take it as profession. I have a budget of 10-12K for lens.

  • admin

18-55mm is a must have lens for DSLR shooters, after that the most important lens is prime lens for everyday use us Nikon 35mm F1.8

  • Daniel

Hi Admin, i have a d5200 with 18-300mm lense. its very hevy as a reason planning to buy another all time lense. can you plz suggest me which lense will be better for me. Thanks..

  • saurabh

i have dsl5200 with 105mm lense but putting into low ISO, i m not getting sharp images. pls suggest .

  • admin

Low ISO will put camera shutter to a low speed, use tripod if you are using low ISO, or keep shutter speed higher than 1/125

  • mohan

    Hi ,
I Plan to Buy D5200. I use to Take Home Photos,Group Photos,Natural Photos
1.Which lens I need to Choose ?(AF-S 18-55 mm VR Lens or AF-S 18-105 mm VR Lens or AF-S 18-200 mm VR Lens)
    2.Did i need to Buy 35mm F1.8 For Regular Photos ?
Hi Admin Can u please explain each important Lens ,that we will get Clear Idea please ?

  • admin

The 18-200mm VR could be the only lens you ever need, 18-200mm VR is a all rounder lens and better than AF-S 18-55 mm VR Lens or AF-S 18-105 mm VR Lens.

You can buy 35mm or 50mm lens (both are portrait lenses) to get portrait images with excellent background blur.

  • Shaji

    Hello!

I own a Nikon D5200 with an 18-140. Have always wanted a prime lens. Would it make sense to go for an AF lens sans the autofocus motor (I do understand my camera does not have an inbuilt autofocus motor and I’ll have to shoot it in manual).Wanted to figure out if this is a viable option or should I be putting in more dough – opting for an AF-S lense instead? Appreciate your time.

  • Bill

I have the kit 18-55 lens, I bought the 55-300, which is amazing…is my kit lens worth replacing with the 35 or 50? They are both around 200…are the portrait pics that much better? If they are I will buy one, which one do you recommend?

  • admin

    Bill,
Please keep in mind both are prime lenses (fixed focal length), Nikon 50mm will give professional quality output but 50mm gives you very limited range (perfect single person portrait) and 35mm F1.8 lens is perfect for friends and family (group) portrait and covers a wide range.

  • Aisha

It has been suggested to me by a few photographers, one professional, that I should think to buying the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens. It is almost $1900. I hear it blows away the competition. But being knew to dslr photography, I’m not sure about spending that much money on a lens. Do you have another option that will give great pictures as well but won’t break the bank?

  • suren

    Dear admin,
I’m planning to buy D5200 with 18-55 mm lens kid, I planning to get good zoom lens for wildlife photography. which lens is good 55-300 or VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF ED ? But it’s cost around INR 31000 it’s good worth money? Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

  • admin

Both zoom lenses are good but 70-30mm will give you more range, spend on lenses and camera that you need… may be a compact zoom camera will fullfill all your need and cost less, for example Nikon P600 or Canon SX60 HS

  • Navin

my friends are using 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor lenses are the output is really outstanding but the cost is ranges from 60k to 110k Rs.Please suggest some best lens for my D5200 at affordable price and picture quality close to 24-70 lenses.

  • Navin
