After the recent rumor of the Canon R1, we tried to double-check it with Nomen Nescio. The only thing he confirmed about the working prototypes of the Canon R1 camera is the use of a more advanced and precise Canon R3 iris tracking system.
The other thing he denied is the use of Canon Quadpixel CMOS AF sensors in Canon R1, the QPAF sensors are still in the lab. We do have prototypes that use QPAF sensors, but they’re not coming inside the Canon R1 body.
In the end, he just told us that the working prototypes of the Canon R1 camera he used were a fusion of the Canon R3 and Canon R5 cameras.
You can achieve 40 fps @ 45-50 megapixels. What more do you need from a flagship camera?
Stay tuned, we will bring more updates as soon as they become available to us

Thanks for sharing, I don’t think so Canon will add a 4 to 5-inch large display screen as said by the Canonrumor website, if they have to they will do it first in their cinema line of cameras…
