Canon R5 Mark II Confirmed Specification Leaked

Finally, we have the confirmed set of specifications for the R5 Mark II camera from Jan Wagener. Take a look at the set of specifications we have:

Canon R5 Mark II Camera Specification

  • The Canon R5 Mark II camera uses a 45-megapixel stacked CMOS sensor.
  • The sensor readout speed of the Canon R5 Mark II camera is even faster than the sensor readout speed of the Canon R3, which uses a 24-megapixel stacked BSI CMOS sensor.
  • RAW pre-burst + Customizable feature is available to the Canon R5 Mark II camera, and you can record your raw files depending on the time length you have selected – one, two, or three seconds earlier before you press the shutter.
  • The maximum shooting speed of the Canon R5 Mark II camera without a rolling shutter effect at maximum speed is 30 frames per second in still mode.
  • You will have both options of electronic and mechanical shutter, and with the advantage of having a mechanical shutter, it will protect your sensor when you want to change your lens while shooting in a wild or dusty environment.
  • Uninterrupted 8K video recording without any overheating. Canon engineers added the best possible heat sink mechanism in the Canon R5 Mark II camera, which will allow you to shoot uninterrupted 8K videos as well as 4K 60 FPS and 120 FPS videos at maximum stretch without overheating like the Canon R5 camera.
  • By adding some design changes of the R6 Mark II camera, the overall look of the Canon R5 Mark II camera remains very similar to its predecessor, the Canon R5.

It’s a really big surprise that the existing Canon R3 24 MP stacked BSI CMOS sensor, paired up with the latest Digic X image processor, is slower than the Canon 45-megapixel sensor. This indicates that Canon may use a Digic accelerator or something similar, being used the the Canon R1. Who knows, but yes, I am excited to say that we will face no more rolling shutter effects in Canon’s highest-resolution sensor.
