DJI Mini 5 Pro Drone Image official

DJI Mini 4 Pro was announced back in 2023, and now we have confirmed information and leaked images of the upcoming DJI Mini 5 Pro camera. The recently surfaced leaks by authentic sources confirmed its existence. So, first, we will discuss everything we know so far related to the features and the potential upgrades the mini drone is coming with — let’s jump into the content.

DJI Mini 5 Pro Specifications Explained

  • 1-Inch Camera Sensor: One of the most exciting reveals is the introduction of a 1-inch camera sensor module inside the DJI Mini 5 Pro. With the introduction of the 1-inch sensor inside the drone, it will increase the overall image/video quality.
  • LiDAR Obstacle Avoidance: For the first time in an ultralight drone of 249 grams, DJI is about to introduce LiDAR obstacle avoidance systems. It has now been supported by 12 front-facing wide-angle sensors and rear-positioned back sensors. With all the sensors, the DJI Mini 5 Pro will revolutionize the ultralight drone category.
  • 25 km Range: Now, the technical specifications suggest the overall range of the DJI Mini 5 drone is approximately 25 km, which is a 15.5-mile range. The extended range combined with advanced LiDAR sensors, makes this a kind of professional role with an ultra-lightweight body. So, you can use it in various locations and different countries without getting into trouble.
  • Lightweight Design Under 249 Grams: So that’s what I was talking about — this particular drone remains exempt from FAA registration for recreational use in the United States and in multiple countries around the world. If you are using a lightweight drone, then no issue. But particularly when using heavy drones, you have to take permission from the local or state government. So, this is one of the best drones to keep with you.
  • Noise Reduction Effort: From the design, it is very clear that the one-piece propeller and the potentially removable guard have been designed by the makers to reduce the noise to its maximum extent. The Mini 4 Pro produces 51 dB.

Mini 5 Pro Leak: What Started It All

Rumors are not new related to the DJI Mini 5 Pro, as there have been numerous reports circulating on the web for several months. However, we had decided not to publish them since none of them confirmed their existence or provided any confirmed information.

The real buzz started with Jasper Allen himself on June 18, 2025. They showcased the leaked images of the DJI Mini 5 Pro, which featured a sleek design and one-piece propeller. The source has suggested it could be a prototype of the Mini 5 Pro, noted with the absence of vented motors as seen in the earlier leaks, but those were unconfirmed.

Design Evolution: The prototype that we have seen features a very compact build with a removable propeller guard, potentially addressing the noise concerns raised by the DJI Flip Drone users. So that modification has been adopted in the new design of the DJI Mini 5 Pro.

The drone uses a large 1-inch sensor-based camera module — a significant, or you can say a major update from the Mini 4 Pro’s 1/1.3-inch camera sensor.

Users on X.com are highly excited to see the new design and the large 1-inch camera sensor, which must debut in the upcoming drone. That response was phenomenal. Although some of them are pointing out that it is a Photoshopped image and not a real one, as we all know, Jasper Allen is a trusted source and never shares Photoshopped images.

Expected Release Date: September 2025

Based on the 2-year refresh cycle of the Mini 4 Pro series or whatever, the DJI Mini 5 Pro release date is expected to be sometime in September 18, 2025.
