Nikon P1000 registered and its model code is N1622 and it was also mentioned in the document that the camera was planned to be manufactured in Chines manufacturing unit, which is now closed by Nikon.
We don’t have any official word from Nikon but it could be the main reason behind the delay of Nikon P900 successor.

As the camera is a long zoom type, holding by hand to shoot will affect pictures quality. Yes, you mentioned that it can be remote controlled by hand phone but that is additional difficulty for the seniors who are slow on that. I SINCERELY hope that you have a PORT on the camera for wire or wireless control functions purposes. As you may aware that many seniors have decided to change to lighter cameras to carry around instead of the heavy type.
For travel photography I do need to have GPS.
