Nikon D5600 is undoubtedly has become one of the best sellers Nikon camera just after its announcement. The Nikon D5600 camera was announced on Nov, 10 2016. They take roughly 1+ years of time to years to update the D5xxx series camera. Being said that, we should expect the scheduled announcement of the Nikon D5700 ( or Nikon D5800 whatever it would be called) sometime in 2018.
There are few reasons that may led to an early announcement of next D5xxx DSLR. #1 of those new Canon rebels are coming with high-end DPAF (Dual pixel CMOS AF Sensor) and that will sure raise competition bar to next level. The other big issue that preventing the Nikon D5500 users from upgrading is the same core specification sitting inside the D5600 DSLR. During our comparison review we have clearly mentioned that users will get same image quality from both the camera since they are using same sensor and image processor.
That said, now it’s time to move towards specification speculation of the upcoming Nikon D5700 DSLR.

Nikon D5700 talk is slowly raising up in forums and other websites, but we are still waiting from authentic rumors since the all the rumor mills aren’t daring to talk about the core specification of the upcoming camera. That fact is were waiting for some strong rumors or confirmations, but prior to that we’re able to take a very good guess.
We want to a massively improved camera
Yes, it’s true we want to see big improvements inside the upcoming camera. And the first thing we want to see inside the Nikon D5700 DSLR is NEW SENSOR that should have

- Wide dynamic range
- enhanced color depth
Expeed 5 Image Processor
Without a new image processor and improved algorithms the new sensor capability will remain unused. Hence, we would like to see New Expeed V Image Processor inside the Nikon D5700 camera
When a new sensor and is paired with EXPEED 5 image processor to provide an excellent combo of high sensitivity, ameliorate image quality, and enhanced overall performance.
The new sensor will not only improve the image quality of the camera but it will speed up the entire camera system. The new sensor may also enable camera to capture 6fps of shooting (vs 5fps shooting of D5600).

Till now the Nikon D5300, Nikon D5500 and Nikon D5600 using the same Multi-CAM 3500 II DX 39-Point AF Sensor. And we are hoping for something better in next model.
We want to see Nikon’s ultra popular Multi-CAM 3500 II DX 51-Point AF Sensor inside the Nikon D5700 DSLR. This will set the Mid-range DSLR competition level to next level.

Nikon must get Hybrid Sensors from Sony or Toshiba
Introduction of Hybrid Sensor
We want to see new generation of Hybrid Sensor inside the upcoming camera. Since, the AF module only work till the viewfinder mode is active and after that contrast detect AF system gets active once the user switches to LIVE VIEW /display or video mode.
Canon APS-C DSLRs are using HYBRID and DPAF sensors and Nikon is lagging behind the technology.
4K Video
The Video features we want to see inside the new Nikon D5700 camera

Contrast detect AF is slow and sluggish and almost unusable for even a semi-professionals shooters. We want blazing fast AF speed on LIVE view mode as well as video. So, not only 4K video mode we also expect Hybrid AF support from the camera.
Body Design
Design wise we don’t want to see any major change in the camera overall structure. On the other hand, people like to see changes, so at the very least the design should be probably be refined.
Nikon D5700 Release Date
It’s too early to mark a specific date on the calendar. As usual in every 1+ years Nikon update the Nikon D5xxx DSLR. Take a look at the announcement schedule of older cameras

Last announcement was made on end of year 2016. Now we expect Nikon will going to announce D5600 successor on Q4 of 2017 or may be at Q1 of 2017.
Update Feb 2021: Nikon delaying the entry-level APS-C and Mid-range camera update in favor their APS-C Nikon Z50 Mirrorless camera. As per the latest rumors, we may see Mirrorless replacements of Nikon D5600 and Nikon D3500 in the year of 2021.
Price
We expect the price should be under $700 so it will remain under regular consumer reach.

None of it matters. Nikon are near dead. No DL line, restructure yet again. Nikon are just going to be reliant on their low end cameras for mass sales in order to tread-water now. They should quit before they get eaten alive.
Nikon, wake up please. We – who invested a lot in your high end cameras & lenses, expect much more in year of your 100 anniversary. Or watch us walking away to Sony. Or Olympus, whose new EM1 mkII shows what “progress” means. This is just – sad.
I am so disapointed about Nikon! I am on the way to open a new company and i´m waiting for a new Nikon Kamera sounds D760 od D820, will have a full frame with the focussingsystem of D500, Expeed 5. But no news are coming from nikon. OK, i must not have a nikon! Now i will buy a lumix GH5, a very progressive future system. Good bye nikon, after 20 Years friendship, its now enough!
Would automatic wireless transfer of photos & video to a Mac or PC be too much to expect?
Or even just an option to disable snapbridge and keep wifi turned on, for 3rd party programs like airnef to again work without frustration?
Phones & tablets are convenient for preview. But photos & movies are edited on powerful Macs & PC with large screen, not on “smart” devices.
Nikon D5700 should have two memory slots.
I expect weather sealing from this, it’s a critical feature for the peace of mind throughout the life of a DSLR.
I don’t expect miracles at this price point. That said, I would have bought a D5600 had it had User Settings (U1, U2). So I’m waiting with bated breath to see the D5700. Weather resistance and fast autofocus would be nice.
Or a D7600 with a fully articulating touchscreen?

You won’t see any massive improvements. No in this entry-level camera at least, and I doubt even a top screen, which might be really useful.
The pixels probably will remain the same but I am almost sure they will put the 21Mp inside it (claiming like that it is the same sensor on D500 and D7500 but with slightly less DR and Color Depth, but people will be happy because it will be th last model and they buy it anyway). The only two things I really hope to see (and Nikon here needs really to wake up) are the 51AFpoint which could be incredible in such level camera and a Good AF in liveview. However, I doubt because if they do this people will tend to prefer this to more pro D7500 (if you want to call it like that), because they will ve exactly the same. The Nikon AF still sucks in each DSLR and they had only made great improvements in the new Z-SERIES.
The Dynamic Range and Color Depth of these Nikon 24Mp sensors are already almost at top of the line with 14EV and 24.1bits respectively, you realistically cannot expect more ’cause more than that represents the real top of the line, the D7200, D750, D810 and D850
The D7500 and D500 sensors are not incredibly good as people think, indeed the D7200 still beat beat them and the so claimed ISO performance have been proven to be almost only an adevertisement. So a D5xxx series will have probably same sensor of d7500 and so, less dynamic range, less color depth and the same 39AF hopefully though, with a new AF module adding good tracking or subject detection. I really doubt they put 51 in that, it would be the second dead of D7500series since it was a dead series since it was born.
I hope that new version come with 4k at 60p….why not other companies goes with 8k…why Canon can’t do it!!!!and we also wish a great Auto fucus with new one….
