    Best Thris Party Lenses to capture Northern Lights / Iceland are
    1. Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 (Does support AF)

    @mariel

    For shooting models you need to get best portrait lenses available right now for you camera, for example the 50mm F1.8 lens we have recommended is the best lens to begin with.

    Nikon AF-p DX 70-300 mm 1:4.5-6.3G ED

    VS

    Nikon AF-p DX 70-300 mm f/4.5 ED VR

    I own the non VR. I’d like to know what I’m missing. thank you for your input.

    VR Means the lens with built-in Optical Image stabilization and Non-VR means lens without image stabilization.

  • phil

    best lenses for big sur and rest of CA central coast?

  • peachpappa

    I have the D3400 and am looking to get a macro. Everyone seems to talk about the 40mm but no one talks about the 105mm. It would seem that with the greater focal length of the 105, you would not have to be so right on top of the subject to get your shot. Any comment on this?
    In the prehistoric days, I had the 50mm for my ‘F’, and extension tubes. Now I am thinking of extension bellows, and maybe a ring light. (I do all of my shooting outdoors, flowers, bugs, etc, if it matters.) Do you think these would add any versatility for this camera, or just slow things down?
