Sara Hansson and Jens Lennartsson feel that the media at large has painted an unfair and inaccurate picture of children in developing countries. And so, they’ve founded an organization EYE AM, the main goal of EYE AM is to let kids in developing countries change the way we see the world, through photography.
To do this they have to raise the money needed to buy the 20 sets of cameras and computers to make the three first photo workshops for kids in developing countries.
Jens Lennartsson – more about his project
Doing a crowdfunding project to make a great non-profit possible. It is called EYE AM and our mission is to do on-site photo workshops for kids in developing countries to give them the chance to tell their story from their perspective. Instead of letting common media be the only one, telling their sometimes flat and generalizing point of view.
In the crowdfunding campaign, people are able to pre-buy the book (among other rewards), to fund the project. In three weeks we are hoping to raise 25 000 euro that will make it possible to buy the 20 sets of cameras and computers needed.
The first three locations on their list: The Ukraine, Kenya and Ethiopia. If they reach their funding goal (€25,000 or about $33,350), they will be able to start their journey and travel to each of these in turn.
