And you have to only sign the petition, nothing else. I am sure many of you reading this article have spent many hours in reading photography news at preview, this is the time to act. TNCTake: I feel more associated with dpreview since I am reading it from my college days, and that’s really hard to believe it will end up like this. Yes atleast we can do something from our side. The second option is, they can work independently as a team, and at the same time they can open up many financial channels to fund dpreview by enabling online advertising solutions and affiliate programs workwide.
I’ve been a member of that wonderful DPReview website since 2002 and I know it has helped a countless amount of people around the world with photographic knowledge. To see it close is now is a travesty and I hated to see Amazon coming to this conclusion.
If there is any way possible – whether through reorganization, scaling down, etc. – that the site can be saved, I sincerely ask that it be done that way. But to shut it down completely has countless members around the world baffled and disappointed.
It’s like closing the Wikipedia of digital photography, I still need some time to realize what happened. Surreal 😞
This is very short sighted the reach that DP Review has can’t been underestimated. How many sales of photographic items besides cameras have been sent through Amazon coffers over the period of time they have owned this. As this is supposed to be an economic decision this seems out of misguided at best.
I have tuned into DP Review faithfully almost every day over the past 20 years or so. It can become an obsession but I think a good one to have.
