The recently announced Tamron macro lens captured stunning Portrait images. As you can see, the samples captured with that particular lens deliver exceptional image quality and exhibit very unique resolving capability that a true macro lens delivers. At the same time, the background blur is very pleasing, and you get a creamy background blur, very similar to a professional portrait lens. So, more or less, instead of having an 85mm portrait lens, it might be better to invest in a 90mm macro lens for shooting portraits if you own a Sony & Nikon full-frame camera.
