The short answer is no, you can record 8k videos for more than 1 hour under normal room temperature. The Sony A1 camera uses a very effective heat sink unit that prevents the camera from overheating and allows it to quickly cool down when being uses for a prolonged period of time. If you will use a dummy battery inside the camera the recording time goes up to approx 3 Hours in 8k video mode.
