According to latest rumors, Nikon engineers have been working on a new generation EXPEED 4 processor and advance AF system for the Nikon D400, the upcoming camera will also feature LARGE BUFFER, newly developed 24 MP DX format CMOS sensor and advance video mode compared to Nikon D7100.

The current focus is to push as many D7100 sales as possible + Nikon is also waiting for Canon 7D Mk II arrival, as we know the 7D Mk II is rumored to be announced on Q1 of 2014, so we may see Nikon D400 in Q4 of 2013 (probably in September). Nikon D7100 vs Nikon D5200

Nikon D7100 vs Nikon D5200Nikon D7100 vs Nikon D5200 – Both features 24Mp sensor but which one should you buy? Take a look at the major specification review below and find out your answer,

Nikon D7100 vs Nikon D5200

Image Sensor & Processor:

Both features almost same size sensor, megapixel, and expeed 3 image processor, so no difference here.
Optical low pass filter (OLPF) is no longer used in D7100, on the other hand Nikon D5200 uses Optical low pass filter, so with D7100 you get more more clarity and detail from 24 Mp Sensor.

Advance AF System in D7100

The D7100 features Nikon’s professionally proven and lightning-fast 51-point AF system, with a new Multi-CAM 3500DX AF module of Nikon D300. For additional precision, 15 of the 51 AF points are cross-type, and the center point is functional at f/8, giving DX photographers an additional telephoto advantage when using a teleconverter.

Nikon D5200 uses Multi-CAM 4800 DX AF module of Nikon D7000, less AF points and less AF detection range compared to D7100.

 ISO

With Nikon D7100 you get ISO 50 to 25600, so without OPLF the images explode with more clarity and detail to take full advantage of the 24.1-megapixel resolution sensor.

You get more range with Nikon D7100

Continuous shooting Speed

D7100 is more fast compared to D5200

  • Bit Broad ISO Range
  • Advance AF system
  • More shutter range and Fast top Continuous shooting speed

Canin 1D X vs. Nikon D4 - High ISO Test

Finally first comparison between the Nikon D4 and the Canon EOS 1D X is now available,  Matt head of xerodigital tested both Canon 1D X and Nikon D4 side by side,  based on test result the overall performance of 1D X is really impressive.

Camera / shot setting: Images captured at RAW mode, processed in Lightroom 4, sharpening and noise reduction set to zero.

Main points of the review

  • ISO performance: Nikon D4 seemed to have cleaner highlights, while the Canon 1Dx appeared to have better contrast and possibly cleaner shadows. In the end, if we have to award a point here and pick a winner, it’s the Nikon D4 – by a hair
  • AF in Low-light: During the low-light Test condition Nikon D4 performed better, focuses bit quickly than Nikon D4.
  • AF Speed: The Canon 1Dx ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED the Nikon D4 in the AF speed test. Canon 1D X is three times faster than the Nikon D4.
  • Autofocus Consistency: Winner Canon 1D X
  • Shadow recovery: Winner Nikon D4

AFTER A DECADE OF SHOOTING PROFESSIONALLY WITH NIKON CAMERAS, MATT IS THINKING OF SWITCHING TO CANON…

A head to head comparison between the two flagship cameras. In the end, a decision is made!
