The long rumored Canon M10 is finally announced by Canon, first time in history Canon made a retractable zoom lens for its APS-C sensor based mirrorless camera. The Canon M10 loaded with a newly developed retractable 15-45mm F3.5-6.3 IS kit lens, the Canon M10 is a replacement of Canon EOS M2 camera. The camera features 18 MP Hybrid CMOS II AF two sensor, the camera is a successor of Canon EOS M2 camera.

Adding to its compact design, the EOS M10 camera is fitted with a new retractable EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens, that shortens and locks into a compact size when not in use. For those “selfie” moments that can’t be missed, the EOS M10 camera’s three-inch screen tilts up 180 degrees to help make sure everyone is in the shot. The EOS M10 camera is scheduled to be available through authorized Canon dealers in November 2015, and will be offered in a kit with the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM zoom lens at an estimated retail price of $599.99. The camera body is available in black or white, and will also be available in gray exclusively through the Canon Online store at http://shop.usa.canon.com/.

The Canon’s imaging chief Masaya Maeda discussed in an interview which was conducted by Imaging-resource about the recently announced latest Canon products including Canon 120MP Full Frame DSLR camera, 250MP APS-H sensor, 600mm f/4L DO BR IS lens, ME20F-SH.

The chief also added that Canon is planning to announce the Canon EOS M mirrorless camera in coming days. So there is hope that the long-rumored EOS M4 is in the route for its announcement in the last of 2015 or in the early month of 2016.

Going forward, and this would be a repeat of what I said before, but we will put more effort into mirrorless, and also, naturally, we will continue to expand the EF-M lens group. In the very near future, I think that Canon will come out with a mirrorless camera that you would really like.
